I have been a counselor for nearly a decade and obtained a Master of Education in Community Counseling from University of Missouri St. Louis. I sought certification in perinatal mental health because it is my passion to help individuals who are struggling with fertility challenges, mood changes in pregnancy, difficult delivery/labor, pregnancy loss, and postpartum changes. Psychological health is related to healthy levels of self-worth and I believe that every person has many ways they can find value in themselves. Practicing from a person-centered lens, I value the client's perspective and experience while understanding the importance of a therapeutic alliance. I provide a non-judgmental, authentic, and genuine approach to therapy. I have experience and training in areas such as: -Anxiety -Trauma -Grief -Parenting concerns -LGBTQ -Maternal Mental Health -IVF and perinatal issues -Stress Management

Susan Van Wazer
Hello and Welcome! I am really looking forward to getting started with you. It can take a big step to make that initial contact for some guidance and help. My name is Sue. I've been a therapist for over 30 years and use a family systems theoretical approach when helping others through the issues and how those issues developed. I also use Cognitive behavioral therapy to guide people on making the changes that they want to see in their lives. Often it's the patterns that we aren't aware of that have an underlying pull to keep us where we are or keep us from making changes. I also help people who have survived traumatic childhood experiences that still haunt or effect one's life that can feel debilitating. Throughout my tenure as a therapist I have worked in many capacities, including developing programs, supervising therapists, running the administrative aspects of programs, such as grants, events, etc. I have lived in several places within this country from large metropolis to small town communities. I work with LGBQ, youth and young people, families, couples, career issues, persons seeking major change, persons seeing recovery from psychological trauma, depression, anxiety, and more. I'm looking forward to working with you! Talk to you soon! Sue

Hello! If you are reading this then it means you are somewhere along the way to seeking therapy - welcome, it's great you are here! Making the decision to talk through personal challenges and struggles with someone takes courage and while it can be a hard step to take, it opens the door to positive and profound change. If you are looking to heal, let's talk. If you are struggling with life transitions or challenges that seem insurmountable, let's talk. If you are wanting to gain a fresh perspective or make some difficult changes, let's talk. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Missouri and have been providing mental health support there and overseas since 2009. I have worked in a variety of settings including outreach centers for survivors of violence, a university counseling center and private practice, and have had the opportunity to work with people of all ages and various nationalities. I practice using a strengths-based approach, focusing on a person's resilience and building on the strengths they possess (we all have strengths, sometimes we are just so overwhelmed by life we are not able to see them clearly). Over the course of therapy I incorporate elements of cognitive behavioral, trauma-focused, solution focused and person-centered therapy. Therapy is not one size fits all and thus the therapeutic process is tailored to meet individual needs. It is truly a privilege to be present with someone on their path of self-discovery and change and I look forward to working with you.

Dr. Tess DeProw
Hello, my name is Dr. Tess DeProw. I have a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Missouri. I have helped many people struggling with depression, drug addiction, relationship breakups, childhood trauma, parenting issues and anxiety. I will work with you to help you identify what your personal strengths are and together we will develop a plan to improve the quality of your life. I used several different therapeutic approaches: cognitive-behavioral therapy, strength-based therapy, motivational interviewing and narrative therapy. All of the tools I use are designed to empower you and help you see that you do have choices as to how we handle the situations that we are faced with. Sometimes the fear of change is scarier than the change itself. My personal counseling style is warm, empathetic, encouraging and empowering.

Mary Meidinger
Prior to becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor, I worked in corporate America. This background gives me perspectives to share with people are looking to enhance , or change, the direction of their careers. I am awed by people's ability to make positive changes in their life with counseling assistance. There are times when we need to slow down and focus on our health and well being for ourselves and the people who care about us. Counseling provides that kind of safety, exploration, and insight. Using our increasing knowledge of the brain's ability to change and grow, I work with people experiencing the effects of anxiety on their lives. We work together to forge a path for improved mood, sleep, and life quality. Most importantly, I work to help all my clients learn to recognize, and respect, their own strengths and help them realize their dreams and goals.
