***Not accepting new clients, currently at capacity, and waitlist full*** “I like flaws and feel more comfortable around people who have them. I myself am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions.” Hi there! I am Joshua, a nationally certified licensed professional counselor who adores meeting new people! I truly love my job, and hope that this reflects in our sessions. As a neurodivergent and queer human, I find my work to be special and unique, and I seek to provide informed services to fellow neurospicy humans :) Formerly from the Southern US (Mississippi), I now reside in Denver, Colorado. I have approximately 10 years of involvement with the counseling profession. I acquired my degrees from Mississippi State University in Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have multiple national certifications. I have experience working in various settings, including acute/inpatient, university-based, outpatient addiction, and most recently as a children's therapist. I am a specialist in LGBTQ+ issues, and incorporate a lense of Neurodivergence (Autism, ADHD) and Trauma-informed approaches to my practice. Domestically, I'm licensed to practice in the states of Mississippi and Colorado. I would describe myself as a very accepting and warm therapist, operating from a drive of empathy, multicultural competency, and compassion. I also view myself as alternative and non-traditional in most of my approaches. I tend to sway more towards a psychodynamic approach to therapy but also incorporate cognitive-behavioral, reality, existential, feminist, relational, culture-centered, and narrative styles. I’ve also taught and lectured in various psychology courses, with my favorite being Human Sexual Behavior. I like to incorporate my academic knowledge into my therapy practices, as I find psycho-education to be a magnificent tool in sustaining mental wellness. My primary goal is to be adaptable, accepting, and embracing. I love the experience of interpersonal connection that is provided by my career, and the ability to help empower others. I also love humor, and utilize it often! Therapy can often be portrayed as serious and 'stuffy' so I try to bring some joy into the room. I love the bonus of meeting international clients, as it provides the opportunity to learn more about each other's cultures! I feel honored to have the opportunity to provide my services to whoever is in need, and am eager to explore the journey of life with you!

Ophelia Mayfield
Hi, my name is Ophelia Mayfield and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Mississippi. I have 12 years of counseling experience. I have the most experience working with clients dealing with anger management, self-esteem, anxiety, and building relationships. I like to use cognitive therapy approach during sessions. I want to focus primarily on the client's current issues to help him/her come to a resolution. I love incorporating the use of journaling and meditation in sessions.

Janet Hardy
I’m Janet Hardy (she/her). I provide telemental health counseling, or “online counseling,” to adults with a broad spectrum of concerns, including parenting, relationships, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I work with young adults, parents, and the LGBTQIA+ community. Human beings are complex creatures. When problems occur, it is often a combination of many factors such as environment, learned behaviors, values, biology, society, development, chemistry, culture, systems, and personal narrative. Therefore, addressing these problems requires an integrated approach that accounts for these various factors. Therapy begins with developing a strong therapeutic relationship in which the client can feel safe to explore their emotions and vulnerabilities. To facilitate this therapeutic relationship, I use a person-centered approach that emphasizes empathy, congruence, and unconditional positive regard for each client I work with. Therapy is most successful when the therapist and the client work together to help the client reach their goals. I look forward to working with you. *Please note that proof of identity and emergency contact information will be required before services can begin.

Mary Johnson-Waldington
My name is Mary Johnson-Waldington. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor (LPC-S), Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and Certified Mental Health Therapist (CMHT). I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I have 17 years of counseling and supervision experience in outpatient and school based settings. I have experience working with children/adolescents and families/couples providing individual therapy, family therapy, couple therapy, group therapy, and crisis management. I have extensive training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Also, trained in TeleMental Health. My orientation to counseling is based on cognitive-behavioral (CBT) approach. However, I employ eclectic techniques in counseling to best fit each client. I believe that the primary process of counseling involves helping clients to find the resources within themselves in order to develop requisite skills and address themes related to their presenting problem(s) or underlying issues. My focus is to help clients gain insight into their concerns, gain an empowered sense of self, internalize a range of coping skills, and minimize negative influences.

Tomecia Payton
I am by no means a typical therapist. I'm what some clients have referred to as an in-your-face kind of therapist. It is my philosophy that if we are going to spend time working on improving upon yourself; then let's improve upon yourself! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Mississippi and Alabama for the last 25 years. I have worked for community mental health agencies, the Department of Corrections, The University of Michigan Research Department, the University of Alabama consultant in the area of psychometry, and the Department of Education for the State of Mississippi. I obtained a B. S. degree from William Carey University in 1996, I obtained a master’s degree in Community Counseling from Mississippi State University, and I also completed my ED. S, at Mississippi State University in the year 2000. Since then, I have obtained a certification as a certified psychometrist which allows me to do psychometrics with children. I am currently working to complete my Ph.D. at Mississippi State University. My focus has always been on the youth and the functioning of family development. I would say I specialize in any extreme, odd, or unusual behaviors in children. As a therapist, I believe our quality of life is directly related to the quality of our relationships and the ability to maintain relationships. The most important relationship that I like to focus on is the relationship with oneself. I am a Gestalt therapist by nature and believe that in a therapy session you must focus on the whole person. Gestalt therapy is a form of psychotherapy that is centered on increasing a person's awareness, freedom, and self-direction. It's a form of therapy that focuses on the present moment rather than past experiences. Gestalt Therapy helps the client identify problematic pattern behavior in session, reflect on how their experiences thus far in life have shaped these patterns, and challenge clients to discuss possible solutions or ways to experience the problem in a new way. Through mindfulness practice, I help clients be more aware of their actions and the consequences that follow. Now let’s get to work!
