Life is hard enough as we know it; add current events, family conflict, marital problems, and difficulties with managing your children's mental health and you have created a recipe for disaster. Your day to day expectations can be overwhelming and cause challenges as you have to manage everyone including workload, family life, and yourself too. If you are able to relate, please allow me to help you. We may not be able to perfect all identified areas requiring attention but we can certainly work to make things better. Hi, I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the mental health field for the last 38 years. The first part of my career was in in Virginia working as an emergency mental health therapist in a community mental health clinic. I moved to North Carolina 30 years ago. For 16 years I worked as a mental health therapist in an inpatient psychiatric hospital. Then I went to work for the military as a mental health therapist working with the Marines and Navy servicemembers for the last 14 years. I also had a part time private practice for 23 years where I primarily worked with couples who were working on their relationship. I did not have much opportunity in my full time job to work with couples which is my passion. I was able to meet with couples in the evening to help them resolve their conflicts and develop positive coping skills as a couple. I am semi-retired and living in Florida now. I love being close to family and the beach. I love working with people to help them achieve their goals. My style is to help you develop the goals you want to change and give you the tools to achieve that goal. It is my privilege and honor to help those who are seeking help for themselves. I see my self as an integrative therapist who utilizes many tools to help my clients. I check my messages several times a day seven days a week and will get back to you within 24 hours or less.

Hey there. My name is Amber. I appreciate you taking the time to view my profile. I have been in the mental health field since 2006 and have been a licensed counselor in North Carolina since 2016. I am also a licensed professional counselor in Arizona. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2005 and a Masters of Arts in Counseling in 2015. I have had the opportunity over the years to support others with addressing concerns with depression, stress, anxiety, self-esteem, family conflicts, compassion fatigue, and parenting issues. It is important to take time to understand what is not working or is challenging. I want to really understand this from your perspective. I also want to learn about your strengths and what has worked for you in the past. Keeping this information in mind will help to develop a path to get you to your desired outcome. I have found that cognitive behavioral therapy is a helpful approach to address life challenges and/or circumstances. I have experience in other models/approaches as well and can adapt based on your needs. This is about you! I like to view a person as already having the solution within them. Perhaps they only need a little support and guidance to bring that to the surface. Most of the time we are stronger than we give ourselves credit for. Sometimes it is helpful to have someone alongside you to take those first steps. I offer to stand shoulder to shoulder with you in this journey.

Hello, and thank you for visiting my profile. Congratulations on taking this positive step in getting the support that you need. My name is Carlene and I'm a licensed psychotherapist with 23 years of experience. I work individuals, couples, students, families and veterans. I have provided counseling services in many different settings including: a university counseling center, school system, private practice, community mental health centers and veterans within the VA system. These varied experiences have allowed me to develop an in-depth understanding of the ways that things can go wrong for people. My success in working with people stems from my desire to help them make sense of who they are, what they do and what they want in life. I strive to help them see the very best in themselves and others as well as the opportunities that they have. In these trying times there are many day-to-day stressors and we can often find ourselves lacking the skills to overcome these challenges. I work hard to help people set goals and to identify their strengths so that they are better able to deal with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, anger, relationship conflicts, abuse and trauma. My approach is eclectic as I draw from many different evidence-based interventions because we are all unique. Practically speaking one-size does not fit all. My style is laid back, common sense and often playful. A positive therapy experience can and should be enlightening and rewarding. Warm Regards, Carlene Messer
