Greetings, Its my guess that I have as much experience as any counselor alive today. Counseling is one of the most common & natural things that people do with each other. Counseling goes on almost all the time. Wherever humans are, there is counseling going on. In fact, more people need to counsel more people for a saner world. Everyday counseling is useful, but for more intricate & difficult problems, people need counseling from someone who is experienced and capable of navigating clarity out of confusion. My success in helping other is born of focus in three areas. I've taught Psychology since age 24 (until presently), I have engaged in clinical counseling since I was 30 and I have a legal background (Law School & Law Clerk) since age 33. I have been the director of several Behavioral Health & Substance Abuse clinics. I've specialized in treating sex offenders and anger management programs. I've been a devoted to Rational-Emotive Therapy (and its variations), however I long ago characterized my clinical philosophy as an Existentialist. I practice brief therapy techniques that does not waist time or money. Thank you for your consideration. Prof. Michael A. Davis, BCPC,LPC

As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), I am dedicated to the supporting the well-being of my clients from a Christian perspective, though I welcome all who seek counseling, regardless of religious background. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, or parenting/marital troubles, I provide a safe place for you to come individually, as a family, or as a couple. While traditional therapy focuses more on the individual, MFT examines how an individual’s behavior affects both the individual and their relationship as part of a couple or family. The theory behind MFT is that regardless of whether a problem appears to be within an individual or within a family, getting other family members involved in the therapeutic process will result in more effective solutions. MFT is goal-oriented and works toward an established end result. In recent years, MFT practitioners and groups have called for expanded approaches to traditional MFT training that incorporate more “real world” practices to integrate other therapies and become more inclusive of non-heterosexual couples and families. I would address the behaviors of all family members and the way these behaviors affect not only individual family members, but also relationships between family members and the family unit as a whole. As such, treatment is usually divided between time spent on individual therapy and time spent on couple therapy, family therapy, or both, if necessary.

For more than 25 years I have had the good fortune to be helping people achieve their therapeutic goals. Life sometimes presents us with challenges that require some assistance to overcome. In my experience I have come to understand that most of us seek the same things in life....peace of mind, a sense of comfort and security, fulfillment, and happiness as we define it. We encounter blocks along the way which can be addressed and in many instances eliminated to allow us to continue our pursuit. I am well versed in various therapeutic approaches and like to tailor my treatment plan to the needs and preferences of the client. I look forward to sharing your journey with you. I have significant experience in treating addictions of all kinds and in working with families of alcoholics and addicts.. Anxiety disorders, phobias and depression are also specialties. I am also a trained hypnotherapist and can offer this modality to those clients who might benefit from it.

Therapy gives us an opportunity to look at the problem areas in our lives in a safe and non-judgmental environment and making the decision to begin therapy and opening up to an absolute stranger is brave, especially online. Together we will create a safe, honest, and comfortable space so that we can find ways to make the changes you desire. As a licensed psychotherapist with over 20 years of experience working with individuals and couples, I believe that effective therapy begins by focusing on fostering basic trust in our relationship. My foremost priority is to provide a caring, respectful response to my clients' needs so that honest personal exploration can take place. Whether you are an adult or young person and feel overwhelmed, anxious, or becoming withdrawn. Maybe you are dealing with a major life transition, past trauma, loss/grief, have conflict in your relationships, or are struggling at work or other areas in your life.
