Gail Albers
I am a licensed counselor with over 25 years experience in providing therapy. My areas of knowledge include grief and trauma therapy, treatment for anxiety and depression, and issues for LGBTQ+ individuals. I believe in the life transforming power of mindfulness and also employ dialectical behavioral therapy, psychodynamic process, and Rogerian theory which focuses on empathy and unconditional positive regard from the therapist to the client. My focus as a therapist is to provide a safe and compassionate space in which a person can gain self knowledge, self compassion and kindness. Each person is unique and my goal is to provide individualized treatment and support to each person I work with. I welcome the opportunity and the privilege of providing guidance and support to each person on their journey of self discovery and healing.

I am here to serve as a guide to help you on your journey to discovering your best self. I believe each person has it within them to bring about the change they need and I can offer tools, outside perspective and insight to help you reach your goals. I take a client centered, systems perspective approach that is guided and informed by systems theory, attachment theory, and neurobiology principles. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in New Mexico. I received my Masters of Science in Family and Child Science, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from New Mexico State University and I received my Bachelor of Science in Family and Human Development from Arizona State University. I have been providing therapy for over 9 years to individuals, couples and families. I have most often helped people with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship conflict (romantic, family, peers), and cancer. I have additional training in attachment, self harm, suicide prevention, neurobiology and trauma. I am also EMDRIA trained in EMDR.

Dr. Donna Daniel
Greetings! I am Dr. Donna Daniel from New Mexico (moved from Arizona during covid shutdown), and I would like to support you in your desire to change, improve or fix your situation. In some ways I am rather 'old school' having been a counseling professional for more than 30 years; I have seen a lot and experienced quite a range of events, places, work settings and clients over those years. On the other hand, I bring a very fresh and non-stodgy approach to the therapeutic relationship - rather than tell you I practice any particular style or theory of counseling, I will tell you that I bring my whole Self to each session, so am sensing with eyes, ears, energy enters/chakras and intuition how you are doing to determine how best to assist you in each contact we have. This eclectic approach is based on many theorists' work, and includes Gestalt Therapy, Rational-Emotive Therapy, Mindfulness, trauma-informed care, thanatology & grief work. Especially the past year, when so many have been triggered for past abuses and betrayals by forced isolation, fears and loss of identity and self-esteem by the global health-related events, we are all grieving our 'old normal' to some extent and may need support for our healing. I am a spiritual more than a religious person, and have practiced Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism, a bit of Wicca, studied the Gnostic mystery schools, was briefly with the LDS church, and grew up Baptist. I know from personal experience that faith can be the cornerstone of our recovery and thriving, or it can be the hammer that knocks us down over & over again. No subject is taboo or forbidden with me, although I require that a client be seeking to rid themselves of damaging patterns and relationships; if you do not really want to or feel ready to heal, let's not start a relationship. I've lived in half a dozen states, traveled extensively for work at military bases abroad in Italy, Germany, England and Japan, and been on three pilgrimages to India. I am married - 21 years - to a wonderful man, and am childless by choice. I lived off-grid for 14 years in AZ and was actively living a sustainable lifestyle, but grew tired of waiting for the apocalypse and wanted to live in a small town and develop relationships with my neighbors. I am thus not a big fan of technology as the centerpiece of daily life, and prefer natural settings to manufactured ones, although I recognize the attractions of urban living. My desire is to facilitate the well-being and spiritual ascension of all persons, one tiny step at a time if necessary. I believe in brief therapy, but am open to cycles of work on various topics and issues. If this sounds like a relationship you want to try, I will appreciate hearing from you!

I am a Clinical Mental Health Therapist with over 16 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families in community mental health, educational and private practice settings. Prior to that, I spent 20 years in pastoral ministry. I completed my Masters in Counseling Psychology in 2008 from Northwestern Oklahoma State University, and soon after moved to Northwest New Mexico/Southwest Colorado. My professional experience includes: Administrator of a Residential Treatment Center, Clinical Administrator for Children's Behavioral Health, Student Assistance Coordinator for a school district, Visiting Professor at a School of Social Work, Private Practice, Outpatient Clinical Manager, Health Services Coordinator for a school district, and Integrated Behavioral Health Provider in a family medical practice setting. In addition to working with high risk/high needs children and adolescents, I work primarily with trauma as well as anxiety and depression. I also serve as a Certified First Responder Counselor. My counseling approach is collaborative and skill based from the perspective that people aren't "broken" and need to be "fixed" and instead are seeking to improve their lives to be stronger and healthier. My role then becomes a guide and companion on the alternative life journey that people choose. The first step on your new journey has been taken by reaching out for help. I look forward to traveling along that journey with you for a while.

I get that sometimes life just sucks and when it happens we can feel alone, misunderstood, and stuck. It's easy to feel embarrassed by the circumstances we find ourselves in which make it even more difficult to reach out and ask for help. Kudos to you for starting out on this journey! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience in providing both inpatient and outpatient mental health services. I enjoy helping people overcome personal challenges and to improve their quality of life. I believe people are the expert of their own lives and the role of a counselor is to help them use this expertise to overcome challenges and reach their goals. I frequently use humor and laughter in my sessions and I encourage my clients to seek out opportunities to laugh. I want people to be active in the counseling process as I believe counseling is not a spectator sport. Additionally, I enjoy working with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures, and spiritual/religious preferences. People generally tell me it doesn’t feel like therapy and meeting with me isn't as bad as they thought it would be. Primary Issues treated include: Anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I look forward to begin working with you!
