Daryl Mitchell
Hello and welcome. Thank you for reading my profile. I begin counseling by listening. Every person is unique and your experiences are different from others. I do not tell people what to do. Instead I will help you explore the possibilities that your problems reveal and guide you to choose the best path for yourself. Experience teaches me that people get stuck when the story of themselves doesn't match their current reality. The stuckness usually comes from believing that change is too hard or not possible based on past choices. The truth is we choose our way going forward. There may be obstacles, but giving up on the life we want is deeply dissatisfying. I enjoy joining people to encourage them to be true to themselves. There is only one you. No one can else can be you. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Arkansas and Oklahoma. I have 26 years of experience in helping people choose their life instead of feeling like passengers. I have worked in hospitals, outpatient clinics, elementary and high schools, and am now in private practice for my 16th year. My work is primarily with people experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, traumatic events, family problems, work problems, and relationship problems. I use problem solving, supportive techniques, and cognitive / behavioral techniques. But mostly I ask my clients to make changes and assess the results with me, then choose what works best. You are a courageous person to even consider taking this step. It shows you want to take back the wheel of your life. I would be honored to be chosen to see where you can go!

Melissa Mendez
Hello and Welcome, My name is Melissa and I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in the states of Texas and Oklahoma although currently residing in Waco, TX. My experience in the mental health field has been focused primarily on working with families with young children and the specific challenges that face families, parents, and children. Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have been working to build my telehealth therapy practice. I have been providing EMDR therapy to treat trauma and other issues for the past three years and have seen the effectiveness of the treatment that is an evidence-based therapy for treatment of PTSD and additional mental health challenges including depression and anxiety. I work diligently to help my clients manage trauma responses, anxiety symptoms, depression symptoms, and relational challenges that are often present when dealing with a mental health struggle. I was led to the mental health field after completing my undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University in Nutritional Sciences. I have been working exclusively online since the beginning of the pandemic. I have continued to focus on identifying trauma responses and helping our nervous systems regulate after exposure to stress, adversity, and trauma. I have 8 years experience working with depression, anxiety, and PTSD symptoms and the courageous clients that are seeking help and hoping for a more peaceful way of living. My style as a therapist is typically warm but direct, collaborative, and mindful of your personal autonomy. I find myself using person-centered, attachment-informed, trauma-informed, and integrative treatment approaches to tailor your treatment plan to best meet your needs. I work best with individuals who are interested in self -reflection and developing a growth mindset. I utilize evidence-based treatments primarily including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), Circle of Security Parenting (COS-P), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). In my experience, each client has unique needs that dictate the length of therapy. I believe in both structure and flexibility in therapy. After reading all of that, I want you to know I'm a real person just like you who is trying to live a fulfilling, meaningful life. I do not believe that therapy is a quick fix for all that ails but I do believe that with time, effort, and consistency we can work together to tap in to your innate resources to move toward wellness. As a person who has been on both sides of the proverbial couch, I know that therapy can be a powerful and important part of the journey! I wish you all the best as you carefully search for and select a clinician. If you choose, I look forward to being a part of your journey.

Catherine Chapman
Hello! My name is Catherine Chapman. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Oklahoma. I earned my Masters of Social work from the University of Oklahoma in 2012. I have been a practicing social worker for 10 years and, additionally, am certified in EMDR therapy which I have been utilizing in my practice since 2021. I have experience working in the hospital and medical field to help patients and their families to find the support and resources they need to get through whatever difficult life situation they may be facing. I feel this experience has given me a deeper understanding of the challenges people may face throughout their lives and the various reactions they may have, whether it be anger, grief, depression, or something else, while processing their own health concerns or those of a loved one. I realize that everyone faces these struggles either in their own lives or through someone close to them and that they can be very difficult to comprehend and accept at times. My goal as a therapist is to help people overcome these situations by providing them a better understanding and tools to guide them through these hard times. My methods focus on using the Strength Based Perspective, Person-in-Environment Perspective, EMDR, and Solution Focused Therapy. I believe you are the expert in your own life and I hope to help you recognize the strengths in yourself while offering support and a non-judgmental sounding board.
