Rebecca Poladian
Hello and welcome! I am a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania with over 20 years of experience working in the field of mental health. I have had the pleasure of working with clients ranging from children to older adults in an array of areas such as depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting, career challenges and many others. I have also worked with both younger and older adults around the area of trauma. I approach each client as a partner in their journey. I believe all people are able to achieve wellness. I affirm that each person is different and that there is no such thing as a cookie cutter approach to therapy. I take a holistic approach to counseling, understanding that a person’s motivation and readiness for change can be a catalyst for positive outcomes. I applaud anyone who seeks out counseling. I am always excited and enthusiastic to be part of your journey towards a happier and more fulfilling life. If you are willing, I am here to support and empower you. I look forward to working with you.
Denise Bunner
Hello, my name is Denise. I have been a Counselor/Therapist for over 30 years. Through my years of experience, I have found that a client centered approach is often the most effective. Each client's story is unique and I want to have the opportunity to hear their story before going forward with a specific style of therapy. I listen with compassion and then review with the client the key points of their experience. Sometimes I ask difficult questions with the intention of helping the client to look at themselves from a different perspective. Counseling can be hard work, and so I want the client to feel that they are working toward the best outcome possible. Sometimes that will take a couple of sessions, sometimes it can take much longer. I will offer suggestions regarding the duration of therapy, but ultimately that decision is made by the client. All of us have heard the phrase, "these are unprecedented times." Yes, we all have been introduced to extraordinary change in the past couple of years. As a clinician, I am always searching for new ways of helping myself, my family and my community to work with the changes we are experiencing. Change is difficult for many people, but with help, I feel that each of us is capable of making whatever change is necessary to create a better tomorrow. Over the past 5 years, I have been exploring alternative ways of helping people cope with the issues that have led to anxiety, depression, sadness and grief. After reading Bessel Van Der Kolk's book "The Body Keeps The Score," I recognized that the human psyche needs to learn how to release the pain that is stored in the body. I have recently completed the Eden Energy Medicine 4 year program. Based on the amazing information I learned through EEM, I will be sharing ways to release the pain stored in our body by sharing simple techniques that help to ground and relax the body. I often refer the members I am working with to one of Donna Eden's books that detail many of the techniques that I have been sharing with people. I encourage you to look for Donna's book, "Energy Medicine: Balancing Your Body's Energies for Optimal Health, Joy, and Vitality." Then contact me for questions and guidance on how to integrate these techniques into your life. I do believe that each of us can live with optimal health, joy, and vitality.

It takes courage and bravery to admit that something does not feel right. Stress, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and relationships can negatively impact your life. You have taken the first step to feeling better by looking at this profile. I hope to create a calm and safe place with you to explore your thoughts and feelings and experiences. We can work together to help you find a better and healthier mental and emotional place. While I like to incorporate aspects of various therapeutic interventions, I believe the foundation of therapy lies in the therapeutic relationship. I want to build a relationship with you built on trust, empathy, and unconditional positive regard. I look forward to meeting with you!
Lisa Young
If there is one thing you and I both know, it's that life can be really hard sometimes. Navigating those times alone can make it so much worse. For the past 15 years, I have been bringing my compassion, kindness, and curiosity to people going through some of the worst that life has to offer to help make life not only bearable, but also meaningful. My clients usually describe me as genuine, caring, and relatable. Though I use a variety of modalities, I tend to work from a trauma-informed cognitive behavioral therapy stance and utilize a combination of therapeutic intervention, education, and coaching based on the particular need at the time - in regular English, that just means I work to see you as a whole person with changing needs over time and that I am flexible enough to adjust to those changing needs. I have worked with people experiencing a wide range of problems, but especially enjoy working with people with ADHD, depression, and anxiety, as well as with people who are generally doing ok but could just use someone to bounce things off of, help with setting goals, and someone to be accountable to. No matter the circumstance, things can be better. I would love to be there to support you in your growth! As for my personal background, I am a liberal and feminist woman with a wife and 2 young kids. I am a late-diagnosis ADHDer myself and know personally the difficulty that comes with both the condition and the lack of diagnosis. In addition to being busy with family and a therapy business, I also have a tiny farm and an unreasonable number of creative interests because the world is far too inspiring to be any other way!

How do I know if online counseling is right for my family in Ivyland?
One of the potentially rewarding aspects of working with a therapist is the validation and active listening they can provide. Your friends and loved ones may also be available to listen, but you may feel that they may lack the skills to provide objective guidance. Counselors are trained to respond to various concerns, symptoms, and mental health conditions.
Therapists in your city can support you toward a healthier emotional state, regardless of your mental health, life concerns, or healing needs. While supporting individuals in developing healthier habits, another good benefit of Ivyland therapy is having an understanding, safe space with a non-judgmental party who can support you through challenging experiences.
Many people have sensitive topics that they may feel ashamed to discuss with their friends or partner. A therapist can help you confront these concerns and open up through unique methods of support. There are also many types of therapy, such as art therapy, where you may find you can express yourself through creativity instead of words with a psychotherapist.
With a lot of people in PA, therapists may be booked out with clients. Should I find a therapist or psychologist for therapy if I feel fine?
Some simply don't feel the need to see a psychologist. However, some people may avoid attending therapy due to stigma or preconceived notions of what it might entail. Although psychologists often support people with mental health conditions, you do not need a diagnosis or specific condition. You can discuss grief, relationship concerns, stress, or life changes and ask for general feedback. A Ivyland licensed clinical social worker may help you gain power over your life and emotions while you navigate day-to-day experiences.
Gaining a new perspective on yourself through various therapies might allow you to improve your self-esteem, work through relationships, and gain a better sense of your mental health goals. The success you may find with a Ivyland counselor can be dependent on your process.
People may also attend therapy for specific motives, such as bullying, an autism diagnosis, a desire to learn mindfulness meditation, personality concerns, trouble with office workers, specific phobias, and many other principles that a counselor can help with.
