If you are here, it’s probably because you are at a breaking point. Tired of feeling down? Tired of feeling exhausted? Maybe you feel alone or ignored? No matter what you are dealing with, it is my honor to walk beside you. My approach to counseling is one of empathy and understanding. I want to help you develop deeper insight into your thoughts and emotions and how they impact your behavior. I will not simply give advice. I will, instead, help you to see yourself from a different perspective. I use an eclectic blend of psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. My goal is to help you not only recognize thought patterns but also to be aware of the framework from which these patterns have emerged. You are in control of this process and my hope is that through this process you will begin to find your voice, find hope and see change in your life.

ABOUT ME Hello, I have been working with clients, and families, for the past 20 years. My experience includes dealing with a variety of concerns that impact their lives. I believe that who we are and what we are have been, to some degree, influenced by others which is sometimes out of our control. Who we are, our identity, can sometimes get lost and we just need a listening ear to get us back on the right path. My focus in counseling will always be that we have choices in the path we take in our lives, which empowers us to regain control of our lives: regardless of the circumstances we find ourselves in while on this journey called life. A friend of mine said to me during one of our conversations, “the time you wake up in the morning is your morning, but you need to wake up.” This is your morning because you have reached out and I am glad that you did. I look forward to working with you

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years of experience in behavioral health providing clinical counseling to adults and adolescents. My clinical career includes treating and supporting clients with a wide range of concerns such as, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting problems, substance abuse, personality disorders, mood dysregulation, trauma, grief & loss and more. My counseling style is supportive, but yet direct. While I do treat everyone with respect, empathy and compassion, you cannot change what you are not willing to own. This process is most often difficult, uncomfortable and frustrating. And so, self reflection, openness and building trust with one’s self is imperative in order to face things in your life that you say you want or need to change. My most common modality of intervention is cognitive-behavioral retraining as one’s perception is everything. Often, the way we phrase things feed our subconscious the opposite of what we really want/need/desire or, the lenses in which we see/understand a situation is distorted and so, we need to reframe the picture. In addition, I am skilled at person-centered, solution focused, motivational interviewing, Trauma-focused CBT, EMDR (I’m very selective w/ this via Telehealth) and more. I provide sessions via telephone or video on a weekly basis. Sporadic, random or biweekly sessions are not an option when working with me until after you have done the work and reached your goal. If you are unable to commit to this then I am not the clinician for you. But, if you’re ready to confront things in your life or, you’re seeking relief from depression, anxiety and or more - I’m your person! I look forward to supporting you on making changes in your life or just even facing some perhaps painful or frustrating things. Remember, the therapeutic relationship is a partnership that grows out of facing difficulties together. What is most important is that you learn to trust yourself during the journey. I look forward to supporting you.

Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Pennsylvania. I have been in the Social Work field for over 14 years and I have been doing individual, family, couples, and group therapy for several years as well. I have extensive experience working with people who are dealing with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, marital/relationship issues, hoarding behavior, and those who are having difficulty achieving the goals they have set for themselves. I consider it a blessing that I have the opportunity to work with so many diverse people and help them to achieve whatever it is they believe will enrich their lives. My approach is person-centered, as I do not believe that I am an "expert" on any other person but myself. However, I do believe I possess some of the tools needed to help others to discover how to make the journey from illness to wellness. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as my primary approach. I am also a certified Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) group facilitator. I find that both of these approaches compliment each other well and they both allow the individual to determine the best course of action for themselves. I liken my technique to this metaphor: We are on a journey together. You are in the driver's seat, I am holding the road map. I can make suggestions on where to go or what to avoid to get to the destination you have chosen, but ultimately it is your decision where you end up. I believe that giving each individual person the opportunity to make healthy choices and take personal responsibility for his or her own health is paramount in someone's ultimate success. Yes, we all stumble and make poor choices sometimes; however, I believe that I can help to guide others in a gentle but firm way that will encourage and build upwards toward success. Working in a clinical setting, I often see how the "system" fails people. I am excited about an opportunity to do what I love to do in a different setting and overcome some of those clinical challenges. It takes a lot of courage to make the first step toward recovery and wellness. I am honored to be a helping hand in that process!

I have over 25 years of experience providing mental health therapy to individual's, couples, and families. I believe that you should not be in therapy for years, but should be quickly making the changes in your life to get you out of therapy. The goal of therapy is to help you to determine what those changes are and then to help you take the necessary steps to make those changes. My approach to therapy combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and mindfulness. I am direct, honest, and genuine in the care I provide and consider my assessment and diagnostic skills to be my greatest strength. Client satisfaction and demonstrable results are a priority. I will be the first person to tell you if we are not a good fit. I am interactive and do more than "just sit there and listen." I have a strong background in working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum, including couples, as well as, female medical conditions that impact mental health functioning. In addition, I have 10 years of experience in the area of disability services at the college level.

My work is mostly with parents. Parents, trying to figure out how they want to nurture and guide their children and to find guidance and help. My approach encourages parents to observe and describe situations that relate to their concerns and to brainstorm possible solutions. I frequently add to their list of possible solutions thus giving information and suggesting relevant skills. Parents decide which of their brainstormed ideas to implement by answering questions about their beliefs, values and the needs of their family members. Discussions about the questions and solutions gives parents an opportunity to raise additional parental concerns such as those related to work outside the home and those of being at home, family conflicts, stress and anxiety in parents and such issues as sleeping, eating problems and just plain misbehavior in children. Clients are encouraged to try different solutions and to report their degree of effectiveness and, if necessary to look for other solutions and to raise additional issues.
