22 years offering treatment

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor from Northwestern Pennsylvania and have been providing therapy in various capacities for over twenty years. I've worked with many different populations, ages, and in various settings to provide therapy to those in need. I've spent a great deal of time honing my skills to best assist those with struggles regarding relationship issues, parenting problems, communication issues, and trauma-related concerns. However, my scope has often included working with individuals who present with depression, anxiety, marital conflict, family conflict, mood disorders, and many others. A great deal of my experience has been centered around children/adolescents, family systems work, and trauma-narrative therapy. My counseling style is best described as open, warm, accepting, and curious. I'm creative in my treatment planning and provide a unique perspective on concerns presented to me during sessions or other correspondence. I employ an empathic and supportive approach to issues, an do so in a direct manner to best help clients truly work toward enacting change in their own lives. I will gladly tailor any discussions and/ or treatment planning to each client's individual needs! Asking for support in our lives can often be a difficult choice, and that's why I believe it takes courage for individuals to reach out, share their stories, and bravely work on identified goals. I very much look forward to the work we will do together!

Hello my name is Kristin Rinehart. I am excited to offer counseling through BetterHelp because it gives access to counseling in different ways that traditional counseling does not. Reaching out for help for your health and wellness is so important and can be difficult to do for the first time. Good job for considering putting time into your self. Just a little about me: I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Otterbein College and Master of Social Work degree from The University of Pittsburgh. I have been a licensed independent social worker for 30 years. I am licensed in the state of Florida, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. I am passionate about treating clients of all ages struggling with trauma, anxiety, depression, stress management and life transitions. I find helping others achieve peace and happiness to be the most rewarding part of the social work profession. I have worked in settings such as community mental health, crisis residential treatment, crisis intervention, school based counseling and integrated behavioral health in a Federally Qualified Health Center. My therapy style includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Time Line Therapy, Strength and Faith based approaches. I believe the most important aspect of a therapeutic relationship is for my clients to know they have someone on their team encouraging them to move beyond the past, live in the present while working toward reaching goals for the future. I am available for messaging, live chat and phone appointments at this time. I prefer to schedule directly with my clients so they get the appointment day and time that works best for their schedule. Video is provided as requested.

I am a professional counselor licensed in Pennsylvania. My counseling experience has been in a general practice with relationship, mood, parenting, and communication struggles and also in a practice dedicated to working with adults dealing with sexual addiction, pornography addiction, and relationship issues with roots in sexual abuse. I have also counseled teenage boys in a residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility. I did not start out with a career in counseling. I have a degree in industrial engineering from Georgia Tech. I married another engineer, worked a little while, raised children, and when they were in the process of leaving the home, I decided to pursue counseling. I acquired my MA in Marriage and Family Counseling from Lancaster Bible College and have been counseling for over 10 years. I believe that our past is not as important as the thoughts and decisions we make today. My approach embraces solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and client centered therapy. I believe that everyone's life history has taught them valuable lessons. It is my honor and privilege to help my clients develop these lessons into functional, effective, and beneficial thoughts and behaviors.

I am a professional counselor licensed in Pennsylvania and Maryland, as well as nationally certified. I am also certified in school counseling k-12. I have worked with varying age groups and populations. I started out my professional career in a social service department in a hospital. Following this, I have worked in schools, as well as various mental health agencies. Most recently I was the director of a mental health and drug and alcohol facility. During my career as a clinical psychotherapist, I strived to become a very well-rounded clinician, working with multiple modalities along with ongoing continued education to provide the best care to those I served. I am in the process of earning my PhD. While I do utilize multiple modalities such as DBT, CBT, and SFT, I believe in a person-centered approach overall, as each individual is unique and thus deserves the approach and style that best fits their own unique needs. Additionally, I have worked with addictions extensively both individually and in a group format. I have taken extensive training in gambling addiction and have run IOP for drug and alcohol groups for many years. I believe wholeheartedly in providing validation and helping my clients understand the importance of self-validation. No matter what the struggle is my clients are facing, I believe that they have the strength within them to overcome their obstacles. I strive to help them find that strength.
