Dawn Brown
ABOUT ME Hi, my name is Dawn Brown. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Board Certified Counselor and have been working in my field for more than 25 years. The bulk of my career was spent with people struggling to find themselves or may need a path to (re)discover their capabilities. This may be due to issues involving depression, anxiety or trauma. I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families, as well with people over a wide array of ages. I find that there is such a pre-conceived notion about those who may need to reach out to a mental health care professional that I look to put clients at ease. Whether the situation involves family, depression, relationships, grief, anger, work,, etc. As a result, I believe in using a solution-focused approach, which allows us to quickly get to the root of the presenting problem. Cognitive behavioral therapy or more simply, how we think impacts how we behave, is what I most often use. As every situation and individual is unique, I also have other methods to assist in evaluating and exploring obstacles. Most recently, I worked on a military installation providing counseling to soldiers and their families. I spent many years in a brick and mortar private practice, but now welcome and look forward to the opportunity to help those who may be less comfortable in an office setting. I offer phone and video sessions only. I earned my Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Lindenwood University (St. Charles, MO), have earned a certification in Telemental Health Counseling and Supervision and have a certification in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. SPECIALTIES • Stress & Anxiety • Relationships • Trauma & Abuse • Depression I also have experience in Family, Grief, Intimacy-related, Sleeping difficulties, Anger, Self-esteem and more

"You don't get to rewrite your past, but YOU get to decide how your story ends!" My counseling philosophy is the belief that individuals have power, choice, voice. I have five years counseling experience with individuals with addiction issues, unresolved trauma, and grief and loss. I aim to assist individuals in reconnecting with his or her power of choice and voice, as well as, guiding one toward healing through development of healthy coping skills and peer support. My counseling style is non-judgmental, warm, respectful, and compassionate. My approach to counseling combines Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. No one individual is the same - treatment plans and dialogue will reflect the specific needs of each individual. Taking the step toward healing can be a daunting task, but I hope to encourage you and help you find peace, happiness, and well-being while on this journey. I look forward to working with you!

Austin Jarrell
Hi! My name is Austin and I practice predominantly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. I graduated from the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) in 2005 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I earned my Master's Degree in Community Counseling from Austin Peay State University in 2010 and received my license as a professional counselor this past February (2021). Between my Master's and licensure, I worked full time and pursued a couple of other educational ventures. I have history working with the Department of Children's Services, doing pretty extensive case management in the mental health field, working with families and children intensively in their homes, and providing individual and group counseling to people recovering from addiction. I'm a straightforward person and very casual. I see people as individual people just like me who have their own unique stressors and life complications. No two situations are the same, therefore cookie cutter counseling is generally not the most effective approach, in my opinion. I look forward to helping you navigate the obstacle course of life!

Please read to the end. I want to save you time and work to give you important information about me so hopefully we are a good initial match. I schedule video sessions based on our mutual schedules. After we initially get in touch we can set up a time to meet online. I have a fairly flexible schedule and am likely able to find a time that works for both of us. I am dually licensed in North Carolina and Tennessee with 13 years of therapy experience. I work with clients who are dealing with stress, anxiety, relationship issues, family conflicts, grief and loss and life transitions of all kinds. I strive to create an open and safe environment where thoughts, feelings and human situations can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process. Please note: I am a secular therapist and do not work from a religious point of view. I use clinically sound and research backed methods in my work. I'm also working at a very part time level on this platform and if I do not accept you as a client it is usually because of lack of availability. I want you to know this in order to save you time while you have your subscription. Thank you for your understanding.
