Welcome to BetterHelp. when I worked as an intake specialist at a veteran’s hospital, I would offer a cup of water before beginning the intake process. If they declined, it often signaled the need for a more formal approach before giving the intake. Over the last 15 years, I’ve learned that hospitality is one of the best ways to build trust at the start of therapy, much like in any relationship. While formal therapy techniques are invaluable, hospitality is about the less visible acts of care that help someone feel recognized on their terms, seen, and valued. As a psychodynamic therapist, I know therapy succeeds for many reasons, but your openness to engage in the process is the most crucial factor, however you choose to approach it. That willingness makes it possible to work through emotions and say out loud what might otherwise be overwhelming in a nontherapeutic setting. On BetterHelp, I offer structured hospitality to equip you to explore your relationship with yourself and build accurate, healthy, and stable self-knowledge and identity. The process isn’t always easy—it can feel messy and even frustrating at times. But those moments of frustration are part of the journey and remind us that there aren’t shortcuts to self-discovery—it’s a process of ongoing progress, not perfection. I look forward to equipping you to write the next chapter of your life on your terms. No matter what the previous chapters have been like or how the current one is unfolding, you can be the author of your narrative that rightly and accurately reflects your strength and potential. I look forward to working with you and for you. Warmly, Bryan Young LPc

Cecelia A. Maurer MA, LPC I work with adults of any age, individuals only. I do not work with couples or families, although I do work with family and relationship issues. *** Hours: M-F 6:00am-3:00pm. Occasionally, I offer weekend appointments, however, on weekends I’m generally engaging in self-care, most likely out on a bicycle trail somewhere. I’m an early riser, and a true morning person, so I offer appointment times as early as 6am…or possibly earlier if needed. However, in the evening my brain is mush and I am all worded out- so I’m basically useless, therefore, my latest evening appt is 3:00pm. I am a Christian, and a professional counselor licensed in Texas with over 17 years of experience working as both a counselor and life/ academic coach. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, relationship issues, young adult issues, career challenges, OCD and ADHD. I do not currently treat PTSD, severe mental health diagnosis, substance abuse issues. In addition to counseling, I have also worked in higher education as an adjunct instructor and as an academic coach. My counseling style is warm and interactive, yet straightforward. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and short-term, solution focused counseling. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I offer appointments M-F 6:00am -3:00pm Change can be difficult but if you are ready to take the first step, I will be happy to help and support you in that effort. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a PhD in Human Services with a specialization in counseling. My therapeutic style includes the concept that the counselor/client relationship is, in itself, a clinical helping strategy. My clinical style also includes narratives, vignettes, or brief stories designed to help illustrate or illuminate client circumstances in a non-threatening manner. This technique encourages clients to derive parallels to their own circumstances. I work with individuals and couples. Historically, most of my clientele have been adults/couples, followed by adolescents, and then older children. I currently work with adults only. Most of my therapeutic services involve adult relationship issues. These include adjusting to major life events and various forms of loss including health, divorce, empty nest issues, and intimacy problems. People commonly experience symptoms consistent with depression and anxiety during these life events. Additionally, I work with attention deficit disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, work related stress problems, adjustment issues, and general faith or spiritual issues. However, I am not a Christian based or Faith based therapist. Like most mental health clinicians, I have an eclectic approach to counseling in that I borrow from several theories of human behavior and development. However, I gravitate to the existential/transpersonal model in that I'm interested in what the person is experiencing today while considering the concept that people are spiritual beings embodied. I incorporate the cognitive behavioral model and, at times, utilize a more psychoanalytic model exploring the person's childhood experiences within a developmental context. My personal counseling philosophy consists of three fundamental pillars: 1. Human beings are spiritual beings embodied (Existential/Transpersonal Theory). 2. My clientele and I are more alike than different. Things important to me, as a person tend to be important to all people in general. For this reason, a positive counselor/client relationship may function as a therapeutic strategy. 3. The people I serve have the answers they seek before treatment begins. The therapeutic process serves to illuminate paths/options so that answers become more clearly visible. AVAILABILITY SCHEDULE I schedule 8 sessions per day, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. I take an hour break from 12:00pm - 1:00pm. This schedule enables me to provide 40 sessions per week, each session lasting 45 minutes.

Hello! My name is Tammy and I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Oklahoma and Texas. I have 7 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked in a variety of settings including residential, outpatient, in-home, and school-based. I have experience working with a broad range and severity of clinical issues. My dedication to the field of mental health comes from a past experience, where my community was grappling from the effects of a F-5 tornado. I witnessed children, adults, and adolescents unable to identify or talk about their trauma. I wasn't qualified to help and I wanted to. Therefore, I went back to school and obtained my degree in counseling and was soon after licensed. I would like to help you navigate the challenges that you may be facing. I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults currently facing emotional challenges such as anger, anxiety, depression, school issues, and mood instability. I believe that effective interventions enables clients to take control of their feelings and behaviors by learning and understanding how their brain responds to various stressors. My counseling style is warm and interactive and I believe in treating everyone with respect. I feel that clients want someone they can connect with, trust, and talk with about difficult situations with that person. Establishing a relationship with your client is essential for true healing to happen. I offer a variety of interventions aimed to assist adolescents and young adults find the solutions to their problems. I am a Trust Based Relational Interventions (TBRI) Practitioner.. I have had great success working with adolescents and young adults who have struggled with traditional therapeutic interventions. I have an approach where I design interventions that fit each person's individual needs. I strive to make therapy engaging. I want to walk this difficult journey with you and help you find your place of healing and life-long happiness.
