Greetings! Resilience, in us, is crucial when faced with day to day challenges. To a certain degree, this resilience carries us through the toughest of times. For some, resilience has somewhat become dormant, to a point that it has manifested itself to making you feel "stuck." This feeling, may have you saying to yourself that there is no way out. I'm here to say that there is a way out.. There is always a way out of this being "stuck" feeling. My counseling approach is that YOU are the expert of your life! You will dictate how your journey goes. I have found that every individual is unique in their own way. Therefore, my approach is integrative and I incorporate different life strategies and therapeutic techniques to assist and empower you to find solutions towards your well being. My goal is to be that tool that guides you to finding or restoring the resilience needed to overcome whatever obstacle or challenge life throws at you while at the same time giving you the tools to make the necessary changes in your life. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been in the field of mental health for over thirty two years. I have worked in an acute inpatient unit with individuals who struggle with anxiety, depression, and trauma. I have also been a behavioral consultant at my local school district and a school counselor for at risk students ages ten - eighteen. In addition to working in a hospital/clinical and educational setting, I also work in private practice. I know that asking and receiving this kind of help still carries a certain stigma in many cultures and populations. However, let this be the day that you begin a process of new beginnings. Taking care of your mental well being is just as important as taking care of your physical well being. Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi, my name is Ashley and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas and Oklahoma with over 5 years of experience working as an adolescent and family therapist. I received my Master's in Education, with a specialization in Community Counseling, from the University of Oklahoma in 2014. I have worked in several settings, including inpatient treatment, therapeutic foster care, and in the school system. I have worked with clients as young as 4, to adults, with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, anger and impulse control issues, severe neglect, abuse, and PTSD, as well as family and parenting problems. My counseling style is empathetic, and I love to work together with my clients, meeting them where they are, but challenging them when they are ready. My approach combines Trust Based Relational Interventions, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and mindfulness counseling. I will make adjustments in techniques and styles used in our sessions, as your specific needs present themselves, and as I learn further from our therapeutic relationship. It takes courage to seek counseling and if you are here, you are already making a huge and powerful step in improving your situation and life. I believe working together, we can make strides in improving the struggles you face. I am here to support and empower you in any way I can, as I know first hand how beneficial counseling can be. I look forward to meeting you!
