Angela Noah-Rico
Welcome, and thank you for taking this first courageous step...reaching out for support!! Here's a little about me. My name is Angela Noah-Rico and I am a native Texan. I have learned much about perseverance and determination in my life but some of my lessons had to be learned from falling and making mistakes. As humans, we do make mistakes and run into difficulties, but even in these less than graceful moments, valuable lessons can be learned and character can be strengthened. I feel that I have been through very challenging experiences that have given me a broader view and empathy for what others may be experiencing. I have known the challenges of having to work, attend college, attend my child's school and sporting events, cook, clean and perform all of the other countless responsibilities on my own. All of these factors have made me more cognizant of the struggles that others face. As your therapist, you can expect me to tune in closely to your experiences and work in close collaboration with you as we explore your unique challenges but also your unique journey, strengths and resiliency. A little about my education, experience, and therapeutic approach: I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in psychology from the University of Texas-San Antonio and graduated with my Master's Degree in community counseling from Wayland Baptist University. I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients to include individuals dealing with grief/loss issues, with children in a residential treatment center setting, children/adolescents/adults in inpatient/outpatient hospital settings, individuals struggling with drug/alcohol addiction, active duty service members dealing with PTSD, and civilian patients who have experienced various forms of trauma. As I studied to obtain my degree in counseling, I became interested in different therapeutic approaches but one that stood out to me was Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), in that it has been very effective in treating multiple concerns such as anxiety, depression, panic, eating disorders and much more. I attempt to adjust my treatment approach to best fit the needs of my clients but I often take either a Cognitive Behavioral approach, which addresses thought and behavioral change, or a Solution-Focused approach, to assist clients in brainstorming and coming up with practical and healthy solutions to their concerns. As a therapist, I genuinely and enthusiastically look forward to assisting clients in realizing their strengths, maximizing their potential, and seeing healthy changes in their lives! Again, I applaud you for exhibiting such strength in reaching out for support during this time in your life!

An ideal client seeks change, guidance and willing to take the steps in healing. My purpose is to treat the root of the problem and not the symptoms as healing begins from within. As a former educator, I take my expertise working with individuals based on their individual needs. Currently, as a Middle School Counselor I seek to understand the overall being, awareness and who they are becoming. Together we will focus on the importance of past experiences on present issues in order to evoke awareness, healing and perseverance. As an eclectic counselor, I utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Rational Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Couples therapy. I work with a variety of issues from anxiety, self-esteem, depression, anger management, personal growth, social skills, conflict resolution, behavior modification, grief, self-harm, suicide, adjustment, marital conflict, and family problems, I find fulfillment in helping others triumph over troubles and believes that healing happens within the context of relationships. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental environment that encourages clients to gain awareness of themselves. I am passionate about meeting people where they are and that all people have it within themselves to change!

Crystal Chang
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Social Worker in the State of Texas with 25 years of experience ranging from early childhood treatment to the elderly. My approach in therapy is of a Person-Centered, Solution-Focused nature and I have assisted clients with a wide range of concerns including significant life changes, parenting, foster care and adoption, divorce or separation, grief and loss, childhood or adult traumas, family issues, domestic abuse, relationship issues, early childhood intervention and medical needs, compassion fatigue, career, and individual spiritual walk. I focus on assisting the client with addressing emotional struggles and in how to face life events in a way that is safe, healthy and positive for them individually and not in comparison to others as each of our lives are unique and at times complicated. Working with a client to see that their life and situation may be unique BUT that they are definitely NOT ALONE and that there is both Hope and Help, is what drives me to continue with my passion to counsel those seeking support as they take their journey in this life. I want each client to feel that they are being heard and valued as they walk through situations with me and get help finding solutions to their need at hand. Oftentimes, a client simply needs to have a sounding board to help them line out their emotions and a course of action but then at other times they simply need professional support in learning about options for tools to use and approaches they can take as they work to address an issue at hand. The combination of my training in social work along with professional counseling, lends well to me working with a client needing both a person-centered but also a solution-focused approach to assist with positive and supportive change.
