I have always been intrigued by how the mind works and what makes people do the things they do. I was lucky enough to turn that interest into a career and one I am deeply passionate about. I think it also helps that I have no desire to judge anyone but rather a strong desire to help others. I graduated with a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology in 2011, and I have been a licensed psychologist through the state of Texas since 2014. I have an interest in all areas of psychology and have been privileged enough to work with children, adolescents, adults, and aging/older-adult populations. Additionally, I have experience in testing and evaluating within general and forensic populations. I have enjoyed working with individuals diagnosed with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and have spent much of my career helping them to develop the skills they need to best function on a daily basis. Through this work, I gained an appreciation for the importance of interpersonal relationships and the acquisition of appropriate communication and social skills. As I have worked in various populations, I have considerable experience treating disorders with common symptoms such as depression and anxiety. My therapeutic approach, as a result of my diverse career path, is best described as eclectic therapy with client-centered focus. I know that each individual comes into therapy with a unique experience and unique concerns. I believe in meeting the clients where they are and moving at their pace, providing what clients need throughout the course of their personal growth. Therapy consists of entrusting your most sensitive thoughts and feelings to a person that is a relative stranger. It requires a lot of trust and vulnerability. Nonetheless, therapy has been shown to have benefits for individuals that have committed to the process. I look forward to working with you along your process, and I hope to help you take the steps toward your healthiest and most fulfilled life.

My name is Peggy Wilson, I have a Masters degree in Human Science with an emphasis on workplace behavior. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 15 years experience. My background in the business world in leadership positions in the profit and non profit setting, along with my mental health training and experience, equips me to make a valuable contribution to clients dealing with anxiety, depression, lack of coping skills, feelings of uncertainty, emptiness, lack, difficulty adjusting to life changes and transitions. Much of our lives are centered around our work or lack of work across our lifespan; it is important to become enlightened to the drivers of our own behavior and how it impacts business and personal relationships. Very often clients discover barriers, childhood traumas, self-sabotaging and self-esteem roadblocks that impact every area of their life and create needless struggle and pain. My approach to helping my clients is to act as a guide and raise their level of awareness to resolve or dissolve problems that could otherwise create a lifetime of suffering. I am living, breathing proof that good counseling has the potential to bring peace of mind and feelings of well-being. I work with my clients to set goals and landmarks and encourage them to keep going. Counseling is a process, it can make the biggest difference in your life.
