Hello and welcome! Thank you very much for seeking counseling services. This takes much courage and I admire and applaud you for taking this important step. People seek out counseling for many reasons. Maybe they are feeling lost, maybe they are stuck in a rut, maybe a bad break up has left them in pieces, maybe a traumatic event has been affecting their lives, maybe the use of substances has taken over their lives as they used them to get through the day and now have gone too far, or maybe they are even feeling the abysses of depression and anxiety and can't understand where its coming from. Whatever the reasons for counseling, the rigors of life have affected the person so profoundly that it has made a hard, negative impact in their lives and may feel like they have lost control. In seeking counseling you have made a choice to take back control of your life, You have decided to fight hard against the inner turmoil. I have the upmost respect for you! If you would please allow me to accompany you on your journey to achieve the goals you wish to achieve, I can assure you that I would give you my very best. Your goals are what's important to me and exploring different ways to find that inner peace is something I do not take lightly. My name is Silvestre Rubio, but all my life people have called me Silver. I have a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology (2011) and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas. I have over 9 years of experience in Counseling and assisting people with a variety of diagnoses such as Depression, Anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar, Substance Use, and Schizoaffective disorders to name a few. In addition, My approach to treatment entails a few crucial things. We must work hard to establish a good, trusting, strong therapeutic relationship first and foremost. I want you to be comfortable to be able to speak to me about anything and know that you will not be judged. I have your back and your well being as my top priority. We can go at whatever pace you wish to go whether fast or slow and your goals are what I'm here to help you achieve. Together we will explore the things that have been bothering you and come up with a treatment plan with reasonable goals you want. We will immediately learn skills, tools and coping mechanisms to ensure you are equipped to deal with a variety of things in your life. In addition, counseling isn't just about learning skills to "handle" things. Having immediate tools is essential, but what is just as essential is to continue to explore the issues that have been bothering you so that we can get to the root and eventually not even have the negative feelings. For example, when some one is using drugs we learn skills that can help achieve sobriety right away. This is very important, but in order to maintain sobriety, we explore the reasons behind substance use in the first place. This can be uncomfortable and can take time, but once we get to the root of what's causing substance use and eliminate it, then this may be where "true healing" takes place. Whatever the situation may be in your case, I. want you to know that you have my unconditional support and will be with you to help get to where you wish to be. Something that I have learned through my years in counseling is that every person is unique, every person is different, every one has a different view and even with similar issues, counseling sessions have be tailored for everyone's individual needs and goals. This is what you will get from me, a person who sees you as a person and wants to help you be the best you. I'm not here to "shrink" you and most definitely know 100 percent must be given to the session every time. Your thoughts, feelings, emotions matter and I'm here to try and help you. If this is the type of counselor you are looking for, then I'm your guy. I look forward to working with you!

Mindy McDonald
Hi. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the states of Texas, Utah, Washington, Oregon, Colorado and Arizona. I am also pending in Tennessee and New Mexico. I am a NBCCH (National Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and I am also a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGCS). Navigating life can be hard. There is no manual, and many of us did not grow up with good models or examples we want to emulate. Some of us are seeking tools and resources to evolve and grow beyond our current limits, others need a sounding board or someone who believes in us and can cheer us on. Regardless of your need, my goal is to help. As human beings, we all find that we need other perspectives, support, ideas and ways of being, at various points in our lives. I would love to be that for you. I have worked with individuals and groups for over 20 years, both in a clinical setting as well as in a crisis intervention capacity. I have witnessed and assisted people from essentially birth to death with all things related to being human and all the beauty and complexities that come with that. My one desire as a therapist, is to always leave people better than I found them. I will meet you where you are with sensitivity, warmth and compassion, and we will walk this healing path together at a pace that is set by you. I believe establishing a strong rapport with mutual respect is key in achieving lasting change. I believe the way in which we have experienced life dictates how we choose to live each day and the quality of our relationships, influences how we cope with stress, sadness and even joy that life inevitably brings. I use a combination of therapy to help clients identify problematic or distressing patterns or behavior, reflect on how their experiences in life have shaped these patterns and encourage clients to discuss possible solutions. I combine many therapeutic modalities to develop your treatment plan by using a strengths-based approach to empower goals tailored to your needs and areas of concern. No two of us are alike and we all experience life differently. Therefore, the approach to healing must also be flexible. My goal is to establish a connection, whereby both you and I will partner, addressing that each person is an individual and worthy of a safe space to heal and be present in their goals as an evolving human being. I believe that prioritizing one's mental health is an investment in self, and is an active step towards your healing journey. I acknowledge the courage it takes to seek a more fulfilling and happier life and commend you for your choice in reaching for that goal. I look forward to working together. *once a session has been scheduled, I will message you to touch base and confirm. If you do not see a day or time available that suits your needs, please reach out to me via the therapy room message option and we will work together to schedule a mutually agreed upon session.*

I know first-hand that seeking mental health support can be intimidating, discouraging and/or awkward, but it doesn’t have to be. My focus is to create a supportive, safe and client-centered environment in order to allow individuals to be the most genuine and authentic versions of themselves. Together, we'll collaborate to navigate stress and work towards your desired transformation. I received my graduate degree from the University of Southern Indiana in 2015 and went on to complete my clinical training in Atlanta, Georgia. I have been independently-licensed since August, 2020. Currently, I reside in San Antonio, Texas, and I hold licenses in Georgia, Texas and Indiana. Regarding my theoretical orientation, I primarily provide Solution Focused Therapy and Person-Centered Therapy. Yes, I'm very familiar with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (most clinicians are). I may incorporate some elements of CBT; however, by and large, this is not what I do. My approach is non-directive, meaning I likely will not give you a list of tasks to complete in order to feel better (this would be difficult, because I cannot replicate your biology or experiences). Instead, I will be an excellent listener in order to help you process events, thoughts, emotions and behaviors, ask pointed questions in an effort to uncover different thinking patterns, highlight potential barriers to change, help you identify strengths and resources and collaborate with you to work towards your most desired outcome. I operate from the perspective that you are the expert of your own life, and my role is to assist you. Establishing good rapport is critical to the therapeutic process, and I pride myself on being non-judgmental and down-to-earth. Additionally, I fully embrace differences and uniqueness, and I strive to provide culturally-competent care. Keep in mind there are countless "styles" as it relates to therapy. If, for whatever reason, I do not meet your needs or expectations, please know you may change therapists at any time with absolutely no repercussions. I’m eager to learn more about you. Feel free to message me for additional consultation. **Please note that I do not provide emergency mental health services. If you need to speak with a professional immediately, please contact Emergency Medical Services (EMS) at 911 or the National Crisis Hotline at 988.

Gaining a new perspective on yourself through various therapies might allow you to improve your self-esteem, work through relationships, and gain a better sense of your mental health goals. The success you may find with a Rice counselor can be dependent on your process.
People may also attend therapy for specific motives, such as bullying, an autism diagnosis, a desire to learn mindfulness meditation, personality concerns, trouble with office workers, specific phobias, and many other principles that a counselor can help with.

Is mental health care and therapy with a therapist worth it?
Therapy with a licensed counselor is effective and has the power to change individuals' lives. Each client is at a different stage of their emotional healing journey in life, as each human can be unique in their personality, expression, skills, and goals. An experienced clinician can target various symptoms, experiences, and personalities to help you feel your best and put you on the path to healing. Unlike advice from a friend, family, or non-professional, a mental health therapist has an understanding of various disorders like ADHD and depression with many hours of experience in treating adults in their practice. For this reason, seeing an evidence based licensed clinician in Rice, Texas can be worth it. Over 41 million adults in the US attend therapy services each year, showing it's a popular option and is proven to be effective.
Rice has many clinicians who practice person or client-centered individual therapy in-person and through online sessions to assist clients in their healing journey. If you opt into online therapy, you might also be able to meet with providers all over the United States and change easily at any time. Many people struggling with anxiety and depression, substance abuse, body image issues, and more find therapists that are a good fit for them, feel supported, and gain further insight into their lives through internet-based therapy.
Do therapists judge you in therapy sessions during telehealth appointments?
The boundaries between you and a therapist are in place to help you and them regarding ethical concerns. Mental health professionals are held by ethical standards through the American Psychological Association (APA) and are not allowed to judge or harm their clients. If you are concerned about sharing details about yourself, feel free to withhold personal information. Their job in the therapeutic relationship is to create a safe place, help you gain a deeper understanding of your mental health, and support you. You might consider changing counselors if you don't feel safe or respected.
