Dr. Andrew Perez
Hello, I have been working as a therapist since 2011. Most of my experience has been working with college students ranging anywhere from 17 years old to older non traditional students in their 40's or 50's. I have also worked in the Texas prison system providing mental health services to prisoners. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminal justice in 2007, a Masters of Arts in Clinical Psychology in 2011, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Rehabilitation Counseling in 2018. I became a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern in 2011 and began working towards my hours. I became fully licensed as a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2013. The beginning of my career after obtaining a Clinical Psychology degree was in the criminal justice system. I have worked in a university counseling center since 2013. I also became a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in 2015. My current work involves providing mental health services to students and supervising interns as well as staff. I also provide supervision to less experienced therapists outside of the university. In addition, I teach on a part-time basis as needed. I have worked here privately online for a little over one year and have provided counseling services to variety of people with various backgrounds. I use a variety of treatment approaches but mostly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is focused on how thoughts, behaviors, and emotions are connected and how if we change one then the others will be affected. I am also like Solution-focused Therapy approaches and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy approaches. I have had some formal training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and have used it with clients as well. I use variety of approaches though, depending on what is called for and what I and the client determine might be best for them.

Miguel Lopez
My name is Miguel Lopez and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas. I provide telehealth therapy all across Texas. I received my Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Texas at San Antonio where I received the knowledge, experience and skills working with an array of individuals seeking counseling services. I have worked with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, sexual identity and gender related issues, trauma, grief and loss. My counseling style is Eclectic. This means I take from multiple therapeutic modalities and incorporate them for each specific client need. Not one size fits all. The modalities I am currently most comfortable and knowledgeable in are Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Existential Therapy. My goal as your counselor is to provide you with the building blocks and skills needed to work through the day to day issues we face. It’s nice to have extra tools to add to your tool belt. I will assist you by providing you with questions and reflections to become introspective, insightful and mindful of who you are and what you want; as well as, challenge you to overcome undesired behaviors and increase desired ones. I utilize empathy and humor in my sessions to help build a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients. I am a person who loves to learn new things and build many interests and hobbies. This allows me to adapt to my client as best as I can and learn from them as much as they learn skills from me. Outside of counseling, you may find me gardening, knitting way too much, bowling, and enjoying the company of my partner, two cats and dog. :)

I am a clinical psychologist with over 40 years of experience in private practice, providing individual and family psychotherapy. Clients with whom I have worked have presented with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, concerns about major life changes, parenting styles, academic direction, and personality disorders. The population I serve range from 10 years old to senior citizens. My treatment style is mainly based upon identifying an individual's strengths, and developing the tools that will best provide actualization of personal goals. The method employed to develop these action plans is drawn from cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, client centered therapy, and relationship therapy. I have learned that the most effective psychotherapy is provided by matching theoretical constructs with personal skills. I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston. My clinical experience began when I was in the U.S. Army. During my first year of service, I was commissioned to provide psychological services to all military personal at West Point Military Academy. My next assignment was in Viet Nam, where I became the noncommissioned officer in charge of the Mental Hygiene Clinic within the stockade at Long Bin, where I worked with American soldiers detained for problems of misconduct. Following my military service, I was hired by Texas Rehabilitation Commission to develop psychological service for the first program that was designed to work with adolescents. My next position was to establish a private practice, where I primarily focused on the delivery of psychotherapy. For over 20 years, I also was a consultant for three public school districts. Within that capacity I consulted with teachers, counselors and administrators in the development of programs designed for special need populations. I look forward to joining you in your quest toward personal development. I believe that all concerns, questions and attitudes deserve to be respectfully addressed. And I extend the promise to all with whom I work, that I will never say something nice just to make you feel good. Our objective will be to enhance self-esteem through honest communication and unconditional positive regard.

I have been counseling for over 10 years. I took 3 years off to focus on wholïstïc wellness & shamanistic healing. In that time it forced me to gain insight & enlightenment in to my deeper purpose for being on this planet. Growing up in the inner city of Chicago I seen so much at a young age. It forced me to always seek peace and protect my energy from adverse entities being emerged in so much emotional & spiritual deprivation. After being so helpful to thousands of clients burnout set in. I took 3 years away from counseling and participated in multiple spiritual wellness retreats and gained clarity about my path on this planet & now more grounded and intentional then I have ever been. I live in a state of Flow & practice being present. My inner child was revived & now I assist others in discovering their Purpose and assisting them in being alignment to their core values & divine destiny. I use art therapy, nature therapy & innerchild healing techniques to assist my clients in gaining & grounding a deeper sense of stability while on this planet. Assisting you in Re-Learning to love ourselves is my primary objective while fearlessly coping with our daily test & opportunities for greatness.

Currently my therapy plans are focused on female clients only. The foundation of my therapeutic approach is a combination between Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy with an implementation of Creative Arts. My sessions are forward focused in which the treatment plan is focused on areas of growth. With that said every treatment plan created is personalized for the individual based on their needs, wants and symptoms. Therefore, additional therapies are at times added to treatment if needed for specific symptoms or by request. Such as treatments for trauma or phobia. Additionally, my therapy is not limited to present and future, but having a mentally stable present and future is the overall goal. A good portion of sessions are revisiting the past and understanding how different habits, patterns and coping mechanisms were created. Once those discoveries are made and acknowledge the process begins to reshape them into healthier habits, patterns and coping skills.
