Counseling is a self-exploratory journey toward inner peace. It is an opportunity to grow emotionally. Emotional growth and maturity is a life work. What is emotional maturity? It includes the ability to be honest, open, genuine, transparent, and loving. It means you don't change you, to be a version of you, that you think someone else wants you to be. You display the ability to be kind to others, but you will set boundaries so you are not compromised. You live in your heart and experience and not in your small mind. We all face challenging times and need an enlightened witness to guide us through. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas. I have a Master’s degree in Counseling. I incorporate many therapeutic modalities, these include: • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) • Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) • My approach is from an Existential and Transpersonal perspective I am compassionate, empathic, and intuitive. Those are tools I will use to connect with you. I will guide you through this unique but powerful therapeutic process that is BetterHelp. Thank you for taking this opportunity for your emotional growth. I’m glad that you are here.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas with over 14 years of experience in direct counseling and case management. I have worked with couples, families and individuals who are experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship issues, grief, relationship issues, grief and transitional adjustments. I am a Certified Grief Educator (trained by David Kessler). It can feel lonely when you are grieving - whether that is the death of a loved one, loss of a relationship, etc. I am available to be beside you during this journey. I believe in creating a warm and inviting space for clients to feel comfortable and safe to share their experiences in their own time. I practice solution focused, client centered, narrative, motivational interviewing and systems approach style in therapy. I want to help you in your journey of self-discovery, developing positive coping skills and hope. I am a wife and mother of two. I have experienced traumatic experiences such as having my first born being a premature baby and experienced a wide range of emotions during that time. I have also experienced grief when my mother passed away and know how such a loss and change in extended family dynamics impacts your immediate family. Each experience and role I am in, shapes who I am and my journey as wife, mother, friend and therapist.

I have had the pleasure of spending my life living, working, and mentoring in multi-cultural environments in the US, Europe, Africa, and Asia . My counseling experience expands 40 years and includes: marriage reconciliation; Women’s Boundaries groups; Divorce Care Recovery groups; Grief Care Groups; Interpersonal relationships; working with Teens; and working with parents with special needs children. I received my Bachelors and Masters of Art degree from Dallas Baptist University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have completed 50 hours of Trauma training and 40 hours of Certified First Responder Counselor Training certificate programs. My approach to counseling is a combination of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused, and proven Biblical principles. I am a relational person. In my experience, the challenges in our relationships are results of shame, fear, wounds, trauma, unrealistic expectations, or any combination of these. Depending on how long you have operated in this manner and how eager you are wanting change, this will determine your progress. Once movement toward wholeness begins, new opportunities for authentic and transparent relating will emerge. I enjoy working with people and seeing them discover their gifts, and passions.

Welcome! If you are looking into Better Help, you are probably struggling with something significant in your life. Finding the right person to help you is essential. If you don't have a good relationship with your counselor, you won't make the progress you are hoping to achieve. I would like to provide you with some information about me, in order to help you decide if my experience and style is the right match for you. I am a licensed professional counselor with more than 30 years of experience in behavioral health. I have worked in both hospitals and outpatient settings, with people from all different backgrounds who struggle with a wide variety of challenges. Much of my experience has been working with people who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, caregiving, relationship issues, polyamory, LGBTQ+ and gender issues. Although it may be comforting to believe that a therapist “has it all together,” the truth is that therapists are people with their own challenges, on their own journeys, just as you are. I am still learning, making mistakes, and moving past them. However, from where I am on my path, I hope to be able to see things on your path that you are unable to see, such as obstacles you are facing and alternatives you could try. I will treat you with sensitivity, respect, and warmth; first of all by getting to know you as a person, since you are the expert on your own life. You can expect me to walk with you through whatever difficulties you are facing and help you learn more about yourself and the way you interact with the world. Together, we can come up with goals and solutions that are going to work for you. I can work with you in whatever manner you are most comfortable. I find it helpful to participate in video sessions so that we can read each other’s expressions and nonverbal cues, But I am also available to you via phone and text if that is more comfortable for you. I check messages at least once during each day. Seeking therapy is not an easy decision to make. I know how hard it can be to find a counselor who you feel a connection with and I would be honored to work with you through this stage of your life.
