I approach serious and stressful situations with creativity & greater emotional and intellectual understanding. Through individual and couples therapy, I integrate a broad spectrum of evidenced- based approaches that support healing and deeper fulfillment. I work with people of all ages and adjust therapeutic technique dynamically based on the individual’s needs and preferences. I have helped clients find relief from anxiety, grief, depression, trauma, relationship struggles and also provide an affirming therapeutic space for those who are lgbtq. Beliefs & emotional responses learned from previous experience can limit us. It matters what we focus on, how we interpret it, and how we respond. I utilize goal oriented hands on practical approach to problem solving. You’re invited to come feel comfortable about your feelings in a safe place where any thoughts & questions are welcome. Our society places pressure to conform;I want to provide you the opportunity to acknowledge there is no wrong or right way to your life choices and healing. Let’s find your way and what works for you through self-discovery.

Admitting you need help is hard to do! We all want to be able to go through this life and never need to ask someone else to help us. However, asking for help does not mean you are weak. I believe it actually means you are strong! It takes a strong person to say, "I cannot do this on my own." That is where I can help. Whether it be individual issues that arise, issues in your marriage, with your children, or in your whole family, I can help to find new ways of thinking and understanding one another. I have over 9 years of clinical experience and employ a Solution Focused and Narrative approach in the therapy room. I want to hear your story, and I want to help find solutions to the issues you bring into the room. Together we can find new ways of thinking and interacting with others in our lives. Making that first move to seek out therapy is a big step, and I am proud of you for being so brave to do so. I would love to hear from you so that we may begin walking together in your healing journey.

Hello! My name is Dana and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado and Texas. I truly believe that one of the bravest things anyone can do is begin to understand their own story. Hopelessness, depression, anxiety, racing thoughts, and emotional pain are just some of the issues many people feel overwhelmed by and struggle with on a daily basis. Oftentimes, people begin to accept these feelings as part of their normal life. As a therapist, my goal is to provide a safe space where clients can feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings, disappointments, and fears without judgment. Everyone faces their own set of struggles, but that does not mean you have to face them alone. I graduated from Texas Wesleyan University with a Master of Arts Degree in Professional Counseling. I have worked in private practice with individuals that are struggling with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, domestic violence, relationship conflict, gender and sexual identity issues, LGBTQ+ issues, as well as personality, mood, and adjustment disorders. Prior to working in private practice, I worked in community health and provided therapy to individuals negatively affected by sexual abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder, anger management issues, bipolar disorder, self-esteem issues, and eating disorders. I work with adults and use an integrative approach to therapy. I encourage clients to express their feelings and help them develop insight into themselves and into their relationships with others. My belief is that each client is the expert on their own life. I believe developing a unique and collaborative approach to therapy provides the most favorable outcome.

I have worked with populations that have substance problems and who have been incarcerated, on probation, or parole. Very familiar with the military and aerospace industries. Although, I am extremely familiar with Christianity, secular counseling is important. Solution Focused Brief Therapy is my main interest because I feel the client knows him or herself better than any counselor. In this light, I become a helper rather than a therapist. I have used Written Exposure Therapy for Complex PTSD.
