Bryan Young
Welcome to BetterHelp. Before becoming a counselor, I taught philosophy, logic, and ethics to college students. I taught them how to attack ideas, not people. When working in a veteran’s hospital, I offered a cup of water before giving the scripted intake. I still start with stubborn hospitality in person before giving the intake. On BetterHelp, I specialize in working with first responders and military members. When working for people, I view anxiety as a horrible alarm system to live with, but a wonderful GPS that causes us to pause, adjust, and figure out how to get where we need to go. I also equip people who have been wrestling with depression, anger, PTSD, CPTSD, bipolar disorder, and who are building a toolkit around having ADHD. I specialize in the relationship between identity and personality, and working with people with borderline personality disorder and narcissistic personality disorder is what I am known for in private practice. The philosophy of therapy is embodied hospitality, reasoning after a person who was never meant to be encapsulated just by labels. I would be honored to work with you to address the concerns that have caused you to look for a therapist on BetterHelp. Warmly, Bryan Young

As a professional counselor, I approach therapy with a trauma-informed perspective, guided by the belief that every individual possesses the innate capacity to heal themselves. I view therapy as a collaborative process, honoring your unique history, values, and aspirations for the future. Together, we will identify your goals and work towards creating lasting change. Finding an anchoring point, searching for meaning, or determining the next steps in your life can seem daunting. However, therapy can provide a space where one can venture into the unknown, fostering understanding and paving the way for self directed change. Together, we will explore your experiences both in the present moment and from the past as they come up in session. Through the power of language and mindful awareness, we will seek meaning, make sense of behaviors and emotions, and create new possibilities for growth and healing. It would be an honor to join you on this path towards self-discovery, healing, and growth. You are not alone; I am here to offer my support and guidance in a safe and healing space. Thank you for considering me as your counselor. I look forward to embarking on this journey with you.

Katherine Bell Thomasy
Hi, I'm Katherine -- Following life-changing paths with my clients is not my first career. I’ve been a writer, a teacher, and a homeschooling mom. I’ve survived trauma and divorce, fought depression, and lived with chronic illness. I’ve made tons of mistakes, and I’ve outright failed—more times than I can count. Sometimes I wasn’t sure I’d recover. Counseling helped me heal. And it can help you, too. Sometimes healing means diving deep—into your past, your pain, and even your shame. Your own depths can be a scary place. But there’s treasure down there, too, if you just know where to find it. Deep inside, there is a person created in God’s own image, uniquely wired to be like no one else in the world. You have gifts and strengths you may have forgotten… maybe even some you’ve never discovered. I’m honored to be able offer a welcoming space for you to explore yourself. It’s safe here. You’re free to be completely, unashamedly you... without all those filters and masks we all when we’re afraid to let anyone see beneath the surface. I want to hear your story, offer validation, demonstrate acceptance and grace, and encourage you as you take those first steps towards becoming the person God designed you to be. Discover the life you’ve always wanted as you learn to extend grace to yourself. A life of abundant joy and hope really is possible. Take that first step—schedule your first appointment today!

Together we will also learn mindfulness skills such as grounding techniques to help you identify positive emotions and feelings to self-regulate depression and anxiety. To add, I can help you to identify and process negative emotions and feelings, that often lead to unhealthy choices and behaviors. Together, we will collaborate a treatment plan that can help you thrive and live a more purposeful and meaningful life. My goodness-CONGRATULATIONS to you! It takes courage to seek help-and I am here to support & empower you through your journey of healing! So let healing BEGIN, right here! I want to hear your story!
