Hey there! My name is Salina Mecham. I attended the University of Utah and received a bachelor's and master's degree in Social Work and a certification in substance use treatment. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Master Addiction Counselor (MAC), and Domestic Violence Intervention Treatment Counselor (DVP). I am fully licensed in the states of Utah, Washington, and New Jersey. I have worked with adults and adolescents and enjoy all ages. I got my start in group homes for troubled youth, and I can truly say that I have never felt more fulfillment in my life than when I was getting chairs thrown at my head, and called names that I can never repeat, because in those moments, I was present and doing what I could to help a person in pain. I eventually moved on to work in a behavioral health hospital where people came when they hit their limit and could no longer cope with living, or their mental health was affecting their ability to function in their lives. I am currently the CEO of Willapa Behavioral Health & Wellness, a community behavioral health agency. I continue to offer treatment at the agency for mental health, substance use disorders, domestic violence intervention treatment, and couples counseling. I also serve clients on BetterHelp because I love providing therapy and don't get to do it nearly enough as a CEO. I am working on getting trained in the Gottman method (couples counseling). My preference is to utilize video sessions so that I can read the situation more clearly. I can, and do, use the phone, but will not use the live chat option because I have found that concepts and meanings tend to get lost because so many nonverbal queues are not seen. I also utilize the email option often, and return all emails sent to me within 48 hours. When time permits, I can open up special times for sessions if there is an emergency. I feel it is important for my clients to spend their week being aware of the things that happen around them, and how those things affect them, and to be prepared with those and other things they would like to address in their session. I also value honest feed back said to me in the moment. I can make adjustments in my approach if I know it isn't hitting where you need it to. Honesty and openness is so important in therapy and can add so much to the quality of your experience. I tend to take an eclectic approach to counseling because one size does not fit all. I pull from CBT, ACT, DBT, REBT, and I am trained in, and use EMDR for trauma treatment. It is very important to me that I create a safe place for all my clients. Judgement has no place in my practice. I believe strongly in the golden rule and kindness, curiosity, validation, comfort, and safety are very important to me. No matter the issue, I am open and ready to help you navigate it in a way that can help keep you intact and moving forward.

Hi there! If you're reading this, you are a brave individual dedicated to becoming the best "you" possible. I am always honored and humbled when chosen to be a part of someone's most intimate journey of self-improvement and fulfillment. Therapy is a powerful though sometimes difficult process for some and growth is never for the weak. Congratulations on getting here! After working as a professionally trained musician, I made my foree into the helping profession as a board certified music therapist after receiving my education at the University of Iowa. Shortly after beginning my work in the music therapy world, I gained my master's in clinical counseling so I could gain clinical tools and add accessibility for individuals looking to heal their mind, body and soul. My approach is a creative one tailored to the individual; I take a multimodal approach in which I incorporate different skills and methods from different modalities so that I can help an individual meet their goals in a nonthreatening way that appeals to their needs, interests and strengths. Some sessions might incorporate music and art while in other sessions I encourage the power of writing or nature. I enjoy getting to know my clients well so we can use your interests to your advantage. I have a particular passion for working with survivors of trauma and abuse - both young and old. In my office, I work with individuals with complex PTSD, helping them to process their traumas and build up a new, healthy view of the world, opening their eyes up to safety and security where there was once fear. I also work with offenders and survivors of domestic violence, those suffering from symptoms of mood disorders (such as depression and bipolar disorder), anxiety disorders, men's and women's issues, intimacy issues/sexual dysfuction and addiction, comorbid mental health and substance use disorders, parenting concerns, phase of life problems and a variety of other needs. I am trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and find creative ways to use this via distance counseling when indicated. I am here to listen and empathize, offering you a warm and compassionate space to share your concerns and help you to problem solve and heal. I have a great deal of experience working with individuals (children, adolescents and adults), couples, LGBTQ+ populations, parents and families. I am so humbled to be a part of your healing journey and look forward to hearing YOUR story.

I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. I began my college education in a humble town located in Hawaii where I was raised until the age of 21. I completed my undergraduate degree in psychology through distance learning and later earned my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling in 2007 from the University of Phoenix. I currently practice via online telehealth only and have done so since the beginning of the COVID pandemic. My therapy approach is eclectic, meaning I combine different therapeutic approaches based on the presenting concerns and goals that are adapted to the needs of the person via the use of cognitive-behavioral, person-centered, brief therapy and solution-focused therapy with particular attention to the psychoanalytic processes, which emphasizes how life events and relationship experiences both past and present may be affecting your current issues and circumstances. What I can bring to the counseling environment to help you with this is a style that I believe to be approachable and warm so that my patients are able to 1) actively process and explore, 2) find their way, 3) learn about themselves and 4) grow to be directors of their life. In short, to help you have the most successful experience in counseling it is important to me that we work together in establishing what your needs are and how I can be of most benefit to you. With that comes responsibility for your mental health and dedication of your time to your mental health needs. To be more specific, I ask that you not just do therapy sessions once a week for 30-45 minutes but that you have a proactive and committed intention of working on your mental health needs outside of therapy as well via homework that is completed in a timely manner as opposed to completing it right before your sessions; I need time to look over said homework and cannot do this effectively when it is sent back the day of. I am genuinely interested in what brings you to therapy and hope that you would feel comfortable working with me as I look forward to working with you. Lani

I am excited for you that you've chosen to take a step towards healing. It can be scary to face your own judgments and fears. I also think some of the most beautiful experiences come from when we truly embrace our most authentic selves and it requires true strength and bravery to show up for yourself in your most authentic way vulnerabilities and all. I know what it feels like to be lost, broken, confused, or frustrated in life. Together we can help you strengthen your abilities to cope with the twist and turns of life. Don't feel like you currently have any abilities to cope? Don't worry we can find them in you and develop them too. I believe in the healing nature of secure relationships. When you engage in therapy it's my goal to create a safe environment for you to express and explore your story. This helps us both better understand what's happening that brought you to therapy. I work compassionately while monitoring my own life experiences and judgments to ensure I am showing up for you in the most authentic and helpful way. I welcome feedback on our work so I can improve how I work with you. Therapy with me is very collaborative, I listen and gather information, and then listen more. I want to understand you and your unique struggles. Our work together will focus on your goals and help you see improvements in the things that matter most to you. We can identify ways to cope more effectively and change old-held beliefs for a more adaptive outlook on life. My work experience has a vast range. I've worked in homes with developmentally disabled adults, residential, day treatment, and intensive outpatient substance abuse rehabilitation centers, working on the streets with our homeless and those with severe persistent mental illness, in private practice, community mental health agencies, and in schools. Because of the various environments and unique people in each environment, I have been blessed to meet, work with, and alongside some truly amazing people. I have worked with ages 5 to 80+ years of age. I was born and raised in Provo Utah and went to New York University for graduate school. Having spent time in two very different environments I have again been exposed to a variety of backgrounds which has made my life richer. I love to travel, I have visited England and India while seeing the inside of airports in Germany and Iceland so far. I hope to add Italy, Ireland, and Scotland to the list soon. My friends and family describe me as warm, friendly, silly, passionate, and easy to talk to. I have often said to my clients, I may be the one with a fancy paper on the wall, but you are the expert in your life, with the ability to enact the most amazing changes. Sometimes we just have to have some guidance, support, and unconditional love and acceptance. I think you should always feel comfortable with your therapist, If you meet me and decide I am not the right fit, that is fine I would encourage you to find the therapist that is the right fit. It's when we feel supported and safe that we are better able to explore and enact lasting change in our lives.

Welcome to my Profile! My name is Pamela J. Lane, MEd, LPC-S, but please feel free to call me Pam. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Texas and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Utah (LCMHC). I have well over 25 years of experience with diverse populations in the mental health field working with adults of all ages and adolescents. My history includes having extensive experience working with a myriad of mental health and behavior challenges in adolescent, adult, and special needs populations. As such, I have counseled closely with many individuals that suffer from Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, and many other personality, behavior and relationship challenges through the multitude of life's transitions. I am happy to make myself available to help answer your questions and advise you of some ways of handling the challenges in your life or in understanding those around you. I can guide and advise you as to what coping skills and strategies may help regarding your thoughts, feelings, or behaviors, in order for you to reach your goals or manage your everyday world. I describe my counseling style as “Talk Therapy” with an easy to talk to presence. I believe that the connection of the way we “think” and “perceive” situations can be changed through rational/reality-based information. However, I am very eclectic in my manner of counseling and treat each person as unique with unique life experiences and circumstances. I have recently been trained in EMDR Therapy which can help greatly when a person’s history includes past trauma, abuse, or phobias. Let me help you decipher your needs & guide you in navigating the transitions in your life. On a personal note, as a mental health professional, I have more likely than not… heard it all and have seen most things. I would be honored to make myself available to visit and work with any person who would feel comfortable working with me on any (well, most) any challenge or life transition. How do I know if online counseling is right for my family in Kanarraville?

One of the potentially rewarding aspects of working with a Kanarraville therapist is the validation and active listening they can provide. Your friends and loved ones may also be available to listen, but you may feel that they may lack the skills to provide objective guidance. Counselors and therapists are trained to respond to various concerns, symptoms, and mental health conditions.

Therapists in your city can support you toward a healthier emotional state, regardless of your mental health, life concerns, or healing needs. While supporting individuals in developing healthier habits, another good benefit of Kanarraville therapy is having an understanding, safe space with a non-judgmental party who can support you through challenging experiences.

Many people have sensitive topics that they may feel ashamed to discuss with their friends or partner. A Kanarraville therapist can help you confront these concerns and open up through unique methods of support. There are also many types of therapy, such as art therapy, where you may find you can express yourself through creativity instead of words with a psychotherapist.

With a lot of people in UT, therapists may be booked out with clients. Through the list of profiles or therapists above and others within BetterHelp's team, you may be able to find a psychologist within 24 to 48 hours. If you're searching to find a a nearby psychotherapist close to 84720 or the surrounding zip codes, consider others available through the BetterHelp site where you can schedule a session based on your and the therapist's schedule. No matter if you are seeking help from therapists in your area or beyond, online therapy can be a great option.

How should I prepare for my first therapy session with a Kanarraville counselor?

Before seeing your Kanarraville therapist, prep for your session by reading to understand the process. You might write a list of questions you want to ask your psychotherapist, any emotional pain you may feel, and the ways in which you hope to improve. When you attend your session, you can let our therapists know if you have any concerns or feel unsure about what to talk about. Kanarraville therapists here may help guide you with open-ended therapeutic questions while offering mental health services. The first session will often serve as an intake to get to know you as a person and learn why you're attending therapy.

Should I find a therapist or psychologist for therapy if I feel fine?

Some simply don't feel the need to see a psychologist. However, some people may avoid attending therapy due to stigma or preconceived notions of what it might entail. Although psychologists often support people with mental health conditions, you do not need a diagnosis or specific condition. You can discuss grief, relationship concerns, stress, or life changes and ask for general feedback. A Kanarraville licensed clinical social worker may help you gain power over your life and emotions while you navigate day-to-day experiences.

Gaining a new perspective on yourself through various therapies might allow you to improve your self-esteem, work through relationships, and gain a better sense of your mental health goals. The success you may find with a Kanarraville counselor can be dependent on your process.

People may also attend therapy for specific motives, such as bullying, an autism diagnosis, a desire to learn mindfulness meditation, personality concerns, trouble with office workers, specific phobias, and many other principles that a counselor can help with.

Is mental health care and therapy with a therapist worth it?

Therapy with a licensed counselor is effective and has the power to change individuals' lives. Each client is at a different stage of their emotional healing journey in life, as each human can be unique in their personality, expression, skills, and goals. A psychologist can target various symptoms, experiences, and personalities to help you feel your best and put you on the path to healing. Unlike advice from a friend, family, or non-professional, a mental health therapist has an understanding of various disorders like ADHD and depression with many hours of experience in treating adults in their practice. For this reason, seeing an evidence based psychologist in Kanarraville, Utah can be worth it. Over 41 million adults in the US attend therapy services each year, showing it's a popular option and is proven to be effective.

Kanarraville has many clinicians who practice person or client-centered individual therapy in-person and through online sessions to assist clients in their healing journey. If you opt into online therapy, you might also be able to meet with providers all over the United States and change therapists easily at any time. Many people struggling with anxiety and depression, substance abuse, body image issues, and more find therapists that are a good fit for them, feel supported, and gain further insight into their lives through internet-based therapy.

Do therapists judge you in therapy sessions during telehealth appointments?

The boundaries between you and a therapist are in place to help you and them regarding ethical concerns. Mental health professionals are held by ethical standards through the American Psychological Association (APA) and are not allowed to judge or harm their clients. If you are concerned about sharing details about yourself, feel free to withhold personal information. Their job in the therapeutic relationship is to create a safe place, help you gain a deeper understanding of your mental health, and support you. You might consider changing counselors if you don't feel safe or respected.
