You found my page, so you must be looking for someone to help you navigate the stormy seas of life. Perhaps you have experienced trauma or an event in your life you just can't seem to 'get over.' Perhaps you feel ashamed, depressed, anxious, disconnected, or stuck. My passion is to help people just like you - people who want to move forward in their journey toward hope and healing. You have courageously taken the first step, and I would be honored to walk along side you as you progress in your journey. I want to help you learn to connect with others and yourself in a way that moves you forward and motivates you to create the life you envision, and begin to heal the things in your life that have led to feeling disconnected. This can take a variety of strategies and techniques, but they all start with a foundation of feeling heard and understood. The counseling relationship is the basis by which you begin to experience greater connection with others and yourself. For some, a specific technique or "theory" is important; however, for most, it is knowing that the person with whom you work cares and is able to make that connection with you. I have my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Virginia. I have experience working with a vast number of mental health concerns and diagnoses, but I am passionate about helping people reconnect with themselves, others, and resolve any trauma (or events, attitudes, behaviors, or beliefs) that may hinder someone from true authenticity and the ability to connect.

Welcome to Better Help! You've taken a huge step, and you may feel nervous about trying online therapy. I believe you will soon discover online therapy is a wonderful tool to help you overcome difficulties in your daily life - all from the comfort of your home! My name is Cristal Jenkins, and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Virginia. I earned my Master of Social Work degree from the University of Washington in 2012. I've worked in many different settings with individuals and families and have experience addressing a variety of personal issues, including depression, anxiety, family and parenting problems, trauma/abuse, stress, intimate relationships, vocational assistance, and addictions. In my experience within various therapy settings, one thing has been apparent: people are incredibly resilient and can grow through challenging experiences with the help of a genuinely caring person. I would love to be that caring person for you and offer support or a perspective to help you become more self-aware and overcome difficult challenges. I believe it's very important to be open-minded and non-judgmental when someone shares their personal story or experiences with me and will always view my clients from a strengths perspective to help them feel empowered. You are welcome to message me anytime through Better Help. The frequency with which you can have access to a counselor to work through the day to day emotions and problem-solving is incredibly helpful and supportive, as opposed to traditional therapy where you only speak to your counselor once a week. I usually check messages twice each day, seven days per week. I offer messaging and live chat sessions only at this time. . Please note that what you see in my calendar may not reflect my only availability so you always want to check that out with me through messaging first. I look forward to working with you!

Hello! My name is Michelle Price and I am registered as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Clinical Supervisor with the Board of Counseling  in Virginia.  I have over 13 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families. Positions that I have held in the counseling field include Clinical Program Manager of Counseling Services, Outpatient Services, Crisis Services, Intensive In Home Services and Therapeutic Day Treatment Services. Counseling Background: All of my counseling experience has been through community mental health services, as I enjoy working with a diverse population with various needs. My theoretical orientation comes from a cognitive behavioral (CBT) point of view. While this is the predominant modality that I utilize,  I do pull techniques from other models if they prove to be beneficial to the individuals I work with. I  enjoy using CBT in my practice because it is easy to grasp, very flexible to implement to the individual's needs and it is evidenced based (has been proven to be effective). Areas that I have received training in  include Trauma-focused CBT, Attachment Based Family therapy(ABFT), Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA), and Al’s Pals. I have also been trained with administering the K-SADS. I am so happy for you with taking the hardest step in counseling. Reaching out for help is not an easy task at all but it is the first step towards healing and finding peace. I do look forward to working with you in this new journey that you are about to take. .
