Thank you for visiting my profile. I am so encouraged that you have taken the most important step toward addressing issues of concern, the first step. My name is Karen Eldridge. I joined the counseling field a little late in life though many would tell you that makes me experienced at this thing we call life with its' many twists and turns, good times and bad. I believe that my life experience, and work in other professions has prepared me to walk with clients to address a wide variety of concerns. I use a wide paint brush so to speak of my counseling style that is centered solely on genuineness, responsibility and accountability. I want my clients to be as comfortable talking to me as they would to their closest, and most trusted friend rather than a professional so very far away. I believe that together we can push aside the fear and embarrassment that too many people associate with therapy to develop a collaborative partnership to discover hidden desires and talents that will allow you to live your life with purpose and passion. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Virginia's College at Wise and a Master's in Counseling from Lindsey Wilson College. I have a PhD in Psychology from Capella University. I earned my National Certified Counselor (NCC) designation in 2013, and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) designation in April 2019. I have experience counseling adults and couples. In my free time I enjoy reading and spending time with my family.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology, a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration, and a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling. I also hold a Certification in Rehabilitation Counseling (CRC) that focuses on working with individuals with chronic illnesses and disabilities. Hi, my name is Josh, I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Virginia. I have been licensed since 2017 and I've been working in the mental health arena for just under a decade. I began working in community mental health and that gave me an excellent opportunity to work with people who were dealing with a large variety of issues, including significant trauma, depression, anxiety, self-harm, relationship issues, self-esteem issues, people struggling to find motivation, people who are grieving significant losses, people with attention or focus issues, and people just trying to find their place in the world. My primary concern is ensuring that you feel comfortable and safe to share openly. Wherever you are on your adventure, I want to meet you there and work with you until you reach your destination. I primarily practice cognitive behavioral therapy and I work very hard to keep myself updated on treatments that are identified as best practice therapy models by the state of Virginia. It is important to me to provide a service that is supported by research to ensure that my clients get the best service available. I tend to pull a lot from DBT, strength based counseling, motivational-interviewing, solution focused therapy, and mindfulness. It should also be mentioned that I have a lot of experience working with people who have had significant legal issues. I enjoy working with people from all walks of life, and I love to learn. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask. It takes a lot of courage to reach out to a counselor, I look forward to hearing from you. joshuarayholbrook@protonmail.com

38 years offering treatment

Hello, my name is Debbie Richardson and I have worked in the Counseling field for the past 36 years. I pride myself in being honest, able to appreciate people’s strengths and their struggles and believe that when people take the time to open the door to asking for help, it’s often uncomfortable and brave. It also can be just the right time to look at ourselves and figure out where we fit or want to fit in our world: in relationships, careers, and in our own skin. We can not control other’s thoughts or behaviors – all we can change is our reactions to them, both behaviorally and emotionally. Therapy isn’t magic. It’s a relationship between people that is open and truthful and asking and answering the right questions can help us see and understand things differently. It can be a pathway to a better understanding of ourselves and others and what our version of content could look like.
