Hope Holman
Hi and Welcome! My name is Hope Holman. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Virginia with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. I am a retired Navy veteran and Disabled Vet who earned my Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work at Saint Leo University. I am also a Registered Play Therapist. I have served clients with a wide range of concerns including; but not limited to, depression, anxiety, trauma and abuse, domestic violence, self-esteem issues, grief and loss, anger issues, relational conflict, parenting challenges, foster care/adoption, Autism, ADHD, physical/sexual/emotional abuse, abandonment/rejection, and life changes. I have experience with various populations from ages 4 to 80. In addition, I have work experience in group therapy, support groups, couple counseling, outpatient, and in-home therapy. My style of counseling is warm, non-judgmental, supportive, and encouraging. My therapeutic approach is strength-based, combining Cognitive-Behavioral and Client-Centered Therapy; however, I am experienced in several other treatment modalities. As your therapist, you can expect a safe place to unpack and process life; while feeling supported, heard, and empowered. Therapy takes work and healing is a journey. I am humbled to walk alongside you as you discover a much healthier and happier you. Lao Tzu once said, “The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.” Seeking out therapy is that one step. It takes considerable courage and strength to say, “I need help!” Perhaps, you simply need a listening ear or a heart that seeks to understand. Whichever it may be, I congratulate you for starting your journey to healing and wholeness whether for the first time in therapy or starting again. You are braver than you think and stronger than you realize! I am excited about your journey. Let’s get started!

Tisa Pinkerton
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years experience in trauma, ASD, anxiety, depression, PPA/PPD, ADHD, as well as those facing challenging life transitions. I spent half my career in acute psychiatry/emergency medicine before transitioning fully to private practice. In recent years, I have found a passion for working with individuals in the process or considering de-transitioning back to their birth sex. Those individuals come with a complex set of challenges both emotionally and physically. My professional experience allows me to assist and navigate them through these challenges with respect and dignity. I absolutely love working with teens and young adults, but have a heart for individuals and couples as well. I recognize that everyone is given their own journey in life. Whether you are searching for help establishing boundaries, seeking direction in working through anxiety or depression, trying to find the next steps in a failing relationship, or working through any number of life transitions. From high school to college, college to "real" world, marriage, babies, divorce, career change or any other challenge life can throw your way, my role is to help guide, support, and empower you. One thing I have learned working in emergency medicine is that one size does not fit all. I utilize my client’s best strengths and pull from a variety of theories and techniques to provide a fuller spectrum of healing. These include CBT, solution based, strengths based, and family based systems. I work to increase their tools for stress management, as well as tools to improve self worth, self respect and create healthy positive boundaries. My goal is to assist you in finding and becoming your happiest, healthiest, and most authentic self.

Asato Maehata
I am licensed in Virginia with 3~4 years of professional work experience and am an EMDRIA certified therapist in EMDR. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, trauma, abuse, motivation, & self esteem by applying EMDR therapy. Also, I work with clients who want to change their beliefs about money - called Money Script - with interventions like journaling and Mandala art, and using EMDR technique. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started! (Note: briefly to explain the theory of EMDR therapy - "Often, when something traumatic happens, it seems to get locked in the nervous system with the original picture, sounds, thoughts, feelings, and so on. Since the experience is locked in, it continues to be triggered whenever a reminder comes up. It can be the basis for a lot of discomfort and sometimes a lot of negative emotions, such as fear and helplessness that we cannot seem to control. These are really the emotions connected with the old experience that are being triggered. The eye movements we use in EMDR therapy seem to unlock the nervous system and allow your brain to process the experience. It is similar to what is thought to happen in REM, or dream sleep: The bilateral stimulation in every movements may be involved in processing the unconscious material. The important thing to remember is that it is your own brain that will be doing the healing and that you are the one in control" (Boynton, H., LCSW, from the training material, 2019).

Christy Watson
Hello! My name is Christy Watson, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Arkansas and Virginia. I have experience working in a variety of therapeutic settings, including inpatient psychiatric care, outpatient treatment, and residential therapeutic communities. I specialize in supporting clients navigating depression, anxiety, substance use, trauma, and relationship challenges. I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology and my Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. My approach to therapy is client-centered—I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to support and guide you in the direction that feels right for you. Using a strengths-based and solution-focused approach, I integrate various treatment modalities to help you identify your inner wisdom and cultivate a sense of balance. Through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I assist clients in exploring the connections between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors to uncover patterns that may be contributing to distress. My work is also informed by mindfulness and acceptance-based practices, drawing from Buddhist principles of compassion, presence, and letting go of suffering. Outside of my work as a therapist, I enjoy playing video games, cooking, crafting, listening to music, traveling to new places, and learning about different cultures. I also find peace in mindfulness practices and spending time with my dog.
