When was the last time you felt truly happy? If you have to think about it for longer than a minute, you are probably having trouble with a mental health condition that is affecting your moods. Luckily, Ellensburg has quite a few therapists who are able to help.

Ellensburg is a town that loves its culture and every year they celebrate many different venues such as the Buskers in the Burg, Ellensburg Rodeo, Jazz in the Valley music festival, the Winterhop Brewfest, and Dachshunds on Parade. You should be able to find something that piques your interest. However, you should talk to an Ellensburg therapist about treatment first, so you can enjoy yourself.

I provide individual therapy to adults. I have a background as a clinical social worker and International Trauma Psychology. My work as a clinical social worker comprised largely of multiple years in community mental health with different aged populations. Since that time, International Psychology has enabled me to broaden my skill set by working across cultures, languages, and contexts, including northern Uganda and, more recently, Kenya, where I am the Co-founder and Co-Director of an NGO aimed toward youth and families. I utilize a broad range of clinical theories and interventions depending on your needs as well as your own unique set of experiences and circumstances. These may include psychodynamic, family of origin, developmental, systems, or cognitive behavioral theories and methods of intervention. It may include also mindfulness based approaches to trauma. I place a strong emphasis on the importance of the social, cultural, and political factors which may shape your life, or the life our your community or family, as well as inform directly the therapeutic process. As importantly, I employ a client-centered, strengths-based perspective. As such, your goals in therapy guide my approach to your care. My intent is to serve as a reminder to you of your own capacity to live a full life with minimal distress and identify assets which may garner lasting support, meaning, and relevance to you.

Workplace and career issues are two of my primary areas of emphasis, helping people who want to stay in their present job with its difficulties, make a decision to leave and how to prepare for it, or even explore a different career and/or educational path--with all the emotions those things can evoke. Relationships, which are so important can be affected by these issues and a host of others. Many of those with problems that seemed overwhelming began by talking about them and when ready took small steps that in themselves brightened their outlook on the future and eventually led to improved outcomes. My mission is to see the world through your eyes, to pose questions to help clarify how you see that world, and to always be in your corner whatever you decide. What I will do consistently is listen intently without judgment, show sincere empathy, look for and validate strengths, do collaborative problem solving, and even share some humor along the way. I find that these practices help good solutions rise to the top. My name is Eric Levine. I’m a licensed Counselor based in Washington State having worked 12 years in the field of counseling after earning my Masters specializing in Counseling Psychology at UCLA. Like many counselors my preference is to work with people in person. But since remote counseling has come to the fore (even more so after the pandemic hit) I find the next best mode is talking on the phone which brings with it a sense of "presence," along with inflection, emphasis, feeling tones, humor, and most importantly the ability to immediately clear up any misunderstandings with the sensitivity of the spoken word. In that regard I’ve been told I have a very calm and pleasant voice that I owe to my father, a newscaster whose warm emotionality came right through the radio, even more so to those of us around him. After a fairly long career in education and counseling programs, I seek to return through this venue to a similar position I held in a university setting where I was able to work individually with students, staff, and administrators, young and old. The shared openness involved was something I could never take for granted, the life stories amazing in themselves.

Hi, welcome to the BetterHelp community. I want to commend you for the courage it took to take the first steps in seeking support at this time. My name is Tyler Cole and I am a Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor in the states of California, Colorado, and Washington. I bring with me 10+ years of experience working in a wide variety of settings. Throughout my experience I have had the opportunity to support individuals and families in working toward and meeting their goals in a wide array of considerations including: managing depression and anxiety, overcoming situational stress, finding opportune work-life balance, enhancing and improving communication and relationship fulfillment, and fostering overall improved inter and intrapersonal wellbeing. I am a firm believer in the research that indicates that the counseling experience will only be as helpful as the strength of the therapeutic alliance. As such, I take pride in working to create an accepting, non-judgmental, supportive, and safe space in which we can work together. It is my goal to fully understand your story, values, goals, and relationships that are of the most importance to you in order assist you in reaching your goals. Most often, individuals and families tend to know, intuitively, what they want and need and then tend to move in that direction when barriers can be navigated around. My role is to compassionately assist in navigating any potential areas where things are feeling stuck and unhelpful. Some of my approaches to our shared work include the use of techniques derived from Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and EMDR. However, each of these evidence-based interventions are grounded in a firm commitment to a client-centered and strengths-based approach that highlights the individual and family as the expert on your life and needs. Reaching out for support is not always an easy or clear decision to make. Again, I commend you for taking this step. Whether I have the opportunity to work with you or not, I wish you all the best in your endeavors to improve your overall wellbeing.

Welcome! As your potential therapist, I would like you to know that I really value the relationship that we create together in therapy. Before we have a chance to meet or if you want to have a better understanding of who I am, I have included some information about myself so you can decide if we might be a good fit. Having an open and trusting relationship is very important in making the most of our time together and getting the support you need. I completed my master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marquette University. I have been in the mental health field for over 13 years, and I have enjoyed using my training as a licensed psychotherapist to help many different people from all walks of life. I have been meeting with clients online for the past 9 years. I am passionate about empowering others, creating awareness around difficult situations, and ultimately supporting people in creating meaningful lives and relationships. I primarily use a cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) framework which means we problem-solve together to understand and change the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that interfere with your fulfillment and success. I also often incorporate other theories and skills (e.g., mindfulness, psychodynamic, etc.) with the understanding that each person's treatment should be individualized to their specific needs and preferences. Prior clients have shared that they find me to be warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental. I look forward to meeting you!
