Stefanie Johnson
Welcome, and thank you for being here to learn more about me to see if we could be a good fit to work together! My name is Stefanie and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Wisconsin. I have over 10 years of experience working in the mental health field and have worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient hospital, Intensive Outpatient programs, in-home therapy, case management programs and outpatient therapy. All that means is that I have a wide variety of experience that has allowed me to see and work with a wide range and severity of clinical issues. Much of my experience is working with depression, anxiety, complex trauma, PTSD and severe and persistent mental illness, like schizophrenia. Throughout the course of working with those particular mental health issues, I also have worked with family and relationship conflicts and anger issues. My desire to pursue a career in the mental health field began in my senior year of high school and I stayed with that path all throughout my undergraduate and graduate education. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire (go Blugolds!) and my Master's degree in Educational Psychology - Community Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. After I completed my undergraduate degree, I worked for about one year for the Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare as a case manager for families involved in the foster care system. I learned quickly in that job while making referrals for the families on my caseload for mental health services that I wanted to be the person receiving those referrals. I have experienced first-hand mental health issues in my own family and understand how challenging it can be coping with these issues for the person struggling and their loved ones. I also have seen how much life can improve for people when they find the support they need and can begin to take better care of themselves. Despite so much effort to eliminate it, the stigma around mental health remains and I believe that being able to access support online can reach so many more people who want to take steps toward taking better care of themselves. I recently took a few years away from outpatient therapy to be at home with my young, growing family and I think that utilizing online counseling is the perfect fit right now for me and my family. I use a holistic, person-centered, eclectic approach to my work, meaning I will meet you where you are at and tailor my approach to your needs. My treatment approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and has been strongly influenced by Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I also utilize mindfulness techniques, values based therapy and solution focused therapy. I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprogramming) for working with people who have experienced trauma. If you are looking for someone to give advice or tell you what to do, I am not your person. I believe in facilitating a conversation that leads you to discovering how you can best cope with, manage and overcome the struggles you have. That sounds like a little “tough love” and I do have that side of me, but I also come from a place of empathy and warmth that helps to foster that conversation to be supportive and effective. I believe that mental health is as important as physical health, and just like it can take time to see positive changes in our physical health and wellness, I believe that mental health requires the same consistency and patience to see positive changes. I look forward to working with you and thank you again for taking the time to get to know me a little better.
Chad Taylor
Hello! I am glad that you have chosen Better Help to guide you through whatever difficult situation that you are facing. My name is Chad Taylor, and I am originally from Illinois where I was born and raised for the first 38 years of my life. I spent my time right out of high school working for the Illinois Department of Corrections then decided to go back to school to pursue a new career. I graduated from Western Illinois University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. After I graduated, I thought about going into ministry, but I decided to pursue counseling. I continued my education through Lincoln Christian University, and graduated in 2015 with a Masters Degree in Counseling. I operate out of Cognitive Behavioral Framework with Motivational Interviewing. I have also been certified in Anger Management with the National Anger Management Association. I spent the first two years after graduation working in the community mental health field. Then I spent two years as a Clinical Therapist at the Illinois Department of Human Services Treatment and Detention Facility where I worked with sexually violent persons who were civilly committed under the Illinois Civil Commitment Act. After my time there I decided to go back to community mental health. When on a vacation to Wisconsin Dells I decided to look for a counseling job in Wisconsin and through a series of events and numerous trips to the area I was hired and moved to the area in March of 2019, and I have loved every minute of it. In my spare time I like to hangout with my family, read, play chess and watch football. I look forward to meeting with you and helping you on your journey.

Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker with certificates in marriage and family therapy and grief counseling. I believe that we all have the skills and solutions within us to solve problems, but at times we need guidance and support in doing so. It takes insight to realize that one needs to make changes in their life, and it takes courage to reach out to get help in doing so. I would be happy to assist you on your journey towards a more balanced and satisfying life.
Robert Simcock
I am licensed Professional Counselor & Clinical Social Worker in Wisconsin with over 30 years of professional counseling experience. I have experience in helping clients with Stress and Anxiety, Anger Management, Adjusting to being Divorced, and self-defeating behaviors that are getting in the way of your quality of life. I use a cognitive behavioral therapy approach with my clients. My focus is to help clients recognize how their thinking about life events and situations is causing their unhealthy response and negative feelings. This process of changing your thoughts patterns can be challenging as it will involve letting go of long-held beliefs. During your counseling sessions, you will probably recieve homework assignments to complete and new behaviors to try out. Your willingness to step out of your comfort zone and try new beliefs and different behaviors will impact how beneficial your counseling is for you. I look forward to working with you.

Dustin Oosten
Hi there! I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Wisconsin with 30 years of professional experience. Yes, three decades. That’s a lot of coffee, a lot of listening, and more than a few metaphorical fires extinguished. I’ve worked at the community, state, and federal levels, helping clients tackle everything from stress and anxiety to relationship drama, family feuds, trauma, LGBTQ+ related issues, and the occasional existential crisis. I’ve also had the honor of supporting active-duty military personnel, veterans, and their families—some of the strongest, most resilient people I’ve met. As a solution-focused therapist, I’m all about finding practical, future-oriented answers. No endless rehashing of the past here—unless, of course, you really want to talk about your high school prom. Instead, we’ll focus on your strengths (yes, you have them!) and create a game plan to tackle challenges head-on. My approach is like GPS for your mental health journey: clear directions, no judgment if you miss a turn, and always recalculating toward positive change. Here’s the truth: you’re the expert on your own story. I’m just here to help you uncover those hidden strengths and turn them into superpowers. It takes guts to seek out a better, happier life, and you’ve already made the hardest move by taking that first step. So, if you’re ready to tackle life’s challenges, find some peace, and maybe even laugh a little along the way, let’s get started. I’m here to support you, empower you, and maybe crack a joke or two while we figure it all out together.

I am licensed in Wisconsin with 4 years of professional work experience, specifically working with family systems, couples therapy, and individual therapy. Before that, I had experience in emergency settings and case management. As my role as a therapist, I feel very privileged to be a part of your journey and discovery in therapy. I believe in unconditional positive regard towards my clients, and adhere to the clinically-proven belief of the client-counselor relationship being the highest indicator of successful therapy- more so than any specific modality. I will curate your therapy to fit who you are as person. I have experience with multiple therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), SFBT (Solution-focused Brief Therapy), Narrative Therapy, Existential Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and more. I believe that no one therapy is perfect for one person, and will draw upon multiple modalities in your sessions. Your world view, identity, and beliefs are important, and it is my job to see you and your life through those perspectives. I practice trauma-informed care. I am an LGBTQ+ ally. If I make a mistake, I will acknowledge it, own it, and do my best to make it right. And, a little bit about myself, I am a certified Therapeutic Game Master through Geek Therapeutics – so you know I’m a nerd. In this “about me” I also want to address the individual and collective trauma that has been the global pandemic, caused by COVID 19. I look forward to meeting you, hearing your story, and earning your trust.

How do I know if online counseling is right for my family in Bloomer?
One of the potentially rewarding aspects of working with a therapist is the validation and active listening they can provide. Your friends and loved ones may also be available to listen, but you may feel that they may lack the skills to provide objective guidance. Counselors are trained to respond to various concerns, symptoms, and mental health conditions.
Therapists in your city can support you toward a healthier emotional state, regardless of your mental health, life concerns, or healing needs. While supporting individuals in developing healthier habits, another good benefit of Bloomer therapy is having an understanding, safe space with a non-judgmental party who can support you through challenging experiences.
Many people have sensitive topics that they may feel ashamed to discuss with their friends or partner. A therapist can help you confront these concerns and open up through unique methods of support. There are also many types of therapy, such as art therapy, where you may find you can express yourself through creativity instead of words with a psychotherapist.
With a lot of people in WI, therapists may be booked out with clients. Through the list of profiles above and others within BetterHelp's team, you may be able to find a psychologist within 24 to 48 hours. If you're searching to find a a nearby psychotherapist close to 54724 or the surrounding zip codes, consider others available through the BetterHelp site where you can schedule a session based on your and the therapist's schedule. No matter if you are seeking help from therapists around or in your area or beyond, online therapy can be a great option.

Should I find a therapist or psychologist for therapy if I feel fine?
Some simply don't feel the need to see a psychologist. However, some people may avoid attending therapy due to stigma or preconceived notions of what it might entail. Although psychologists often support people with mental health conditions, you do not need a diagnosis or specific condition. You can discuss grief, relationship concerns, stress, or life changes and ask for general feedback. A Bloomer licensed clinical social worker may help you gain power over your life and emotions while you navigate day-to-day experiences.
Gaining a new perspective on yourself through various therapies might allow you to improve your self-esteem, work through relationships, and gain a better sense of your mental health goals. The success you may find with a Bloomer counselor can be dependent on your process.
People may also attend therapy for specific motives, such as bullying, an autism diagnosis, a desire to learn mindfulness meditation, personality concerns, trouble with office workers, specific phobias, and many other principles that a counselor can help with.

Is mental health care and therapy with a therapist worth it?
Therapy with a licensed counselor is effective and has the power to change individuals' lives. Each client is at a different stage of their emotional healing journey in life, as each human can be unique in their personality, expression, skills, and goals. An experienced clinician can target various symptoms, experiences, and personalities to help you feel your best and put you on the path to healing. Unlike advice from a friend, family, or non-professional, a mental health therapist has an understanding of various disorders like ADHD and depression with many hours of experience in treating adults in their practice. For this reason, seeing an evidence based licensed clinician in Bloomer, Wisconsin can be worth it. Over 41 million adults in the US attend therapy services each year, showing it's a popular option and is proven to be effective.
Bloomer has many clinicians who practice person or client-centered individual therapy in-person and through online sessions to assist clients in their healing journey. If you opt into online therapy, you might also be able to meet with providers all over the United States and change easily at any time. Many people struggling with anxiety and depression, substance abuse, body image issues, and more find therapists that are a good fit for them, feel supported, and gain further insight into their lives through internet-based therapy.
Do therapists judge you in therapy sessions during telehealth appointments?
The boundaries between you and a therapist are in place to help you and them regarding ethical concerns. Mental health professionals are held by ethical standards through the American Psychological Association (APA) and are not allowed to judge or harm their clients. If you are concerned about sharing details about yourself, feel free to withhold personal information. Their job in the therapeutic relationship is to create a safe place, help you gain a deeper understanding of your mental health, and support you. You might consider changing counselors if you don't feel safe or respected.
