Tisa Pinkerton, LCSW
About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years experience in trauma, ASD, anxiety, depression, PPA/PPD, ADHD, as well as those facing challenging life transitions. I spent half my career in acute psychiatry/emergency medicine before transitioning fully to private practice. In recent years, I have found a passion for working with individuals in the process or considering de-transitioning back to their birth sex. Those individuals come with a complex set of challenges both emotionally and physically. My professional experience allows me to assist and navigate them through these challenges with respect and dignity. I absolutely love working with teens and young adults, but have a heart for individuals and couples as well.
I recognize that everyone is given their own journey in life. Whether you are searching for help establishing boundaries, seeking direction in working through anxiety or depression, trying to find the next steps in a failing relationship, or working through any number of life transitions. From high school to college, college to "real" world, marriage, babies, divorce, career change or any other challenge life can throw your way, my role is to help guide, support, and empower you.
One thing I have learned working in emergency medicine is that one size does not fit all. I utilize my client’s best strengths and pull from a variety of theories and techniques to provide a fuller spectrum of healing. These include CBT, solution based, strengths based, and family based systems. I work to increase their tools for stress management, as well as tools to improve self worth, self respect and create healthy positive boundaries. My goal is to assist you in finding and becoming your happiest, healthiest, and most authentic self.
