I am a licensed therapist with 7 years clinical experience in the mental health field. During this time I've worked to help people struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, and addiction. I also have experience in providing couples counseling to couples looking to learn new communication skills and reignite that spark. I like to take a client-centered approach and work together with clients to identify effective coping skills, prioritize treatment goals, adopt healthier thought patterns, and build on existing strengths. I use various assessment tools, cognitive behavioral therapies, motivational interviewing, and other trauma (and healing from trauma), attachment, and regulation modalities.

THANK YOU Better help! You helped save my life. When I was recommended to have counseling for my own mental health, I was discouraged. There were no therapists available in East TN due to staffing issues..But, I logged on to BetterHelp.com and immediately found a custom, personalized therapist. Travis Murrah, you are the best therapist I have talked to. You help me break down my problems with grace, humor, and compassion! Thank you again to Travis and the Better Help team.. If only that insurance company paid for these crucial, life saving tools that would be great; however, I’ll prioritize paying for my therapy myself. Why? because….
MY life is worth every penny. My family agrees and even will help pay for my sessions if needed. Why? Because the improvement in my mental health. ❤️❤️

Travis Is an absolute amazing therapist, he listens to me and acknowledges my concerns. I am excited every week to schedule with him as I feel like I've been heard and he listens to me. I've tried several therapists in the past and by far Travis is the best I've had yet and hope to continue with him.

Travis Murrah has been great at listening to my problems and giving me feedback. He also has introduced me new ways to understand where problems come from and looking at things in a different perspective. He is kind and understanding when it comes to individual feelings and see both sides of the problem. I would highly recommend Travis to anyone needing a counselor. I still have a long way to go but I trust that Travis will help me overcome any current and futures issues.

I have been able to tackle alot of my traumas that I forgot about with him . Would recommend him to anyone looking for someone to listen an give you insight on what you tell him. Just rember one thing no one can help you unless you are honest about everything an don’t come in trying to hide your problems .
