About me

Hello-
My name is Tricia Richards and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of Washington. I have started my work in community mental health, in 2 different areas of Washington, which has given me a lot of experience working with diverse populations, with many different issues that individuals and families face, including anxiety, depression, abuse/neglect, reunification, parenting difficulties, stress, loss, and overall life difficulties.

I take a client centered and goal oriented, systems approach, being guided by the idea that people do the best they can with what they have; Sometimes they just need more tools. I work with my clients to determine what they want their goals to be, and that is what we focus on, taking into account all of the systems at play in life, such as school, work, family, and friends.

I earned my Bachelor's of Science in Family Studies, and Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, from Central Washington University. Then, I went on to earn my Masters Degree from Seattle Pacific University in Marriage and Family Therapy.

I have been doing therapy since 2014, married since 2017, and in 2018 my husband and I welcomed our amazing Boy/Girl Twins into the world.

I look forward to working with you!

Tricia is a great therapist. I feel cared for even while i am not currently using her services. If money allows she will be my first choice

I'm so happy I started BetterHelp! It has helped me in so many ways. I love how calm and how much in a better mood I feel after my therapy session. I would recommend my therapist and BetterHelp to anyone looking for therapy.

Talking to Tricia really helped me understand so much about what's going on. Incredibly comforting without many words and understanding without judgment. I don't like to reach out but I understand I needed a support system and I'm glad I chose Tricia.

Tricia has been extraordinarily helpful in my postpartum depression journey. I feel heard when I speak to her. She has a kind, pleasant demeanor and has a lot of knowledge and expertise in her field. She has found a way to reframe a lot of things for me and I feel comfortable talking to her at all times. I’m infinitely thankful that I was matched with her. I am making progress !!

This is my first experience with therapy. I have felt very valued and listened to, I feel like I’ve been helped ever step of the way to set up a care plan that works best for me and for what I need. Better help even helped me get financial help with affording my weekly visits.
