Vaughn Knapp, LCSW
About me
I am licensed in Idaho with more than 16 years of professional work experience in medical social work and counseling. I also have experience working with depression and adjusting to the life changes that medical issues can bring. I believe that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. For some people depression can narrow their focus and make it seem like they have fewer options than they do to change. Vaughn is really helpful for me to talk to during what has become the most emotionally challenging time in my life so far. He shows a high level of experience in deep listening and the input he offers is done in a very well timed way, allowing me to unload and then arming me with valuable outside perspective that I am struggling to see myself at this time. I would recommend him to anyone.

Mr. Knapp is an incredibly helpful counselor. He is patient, knowledgeable, and fair. I appreciate the fact that he doesn’t always tell me want I want to hear, but more importantly what I need to hear. Additionally, his breadth of knowledge was evident when we got half way through our sessions and switched focus areas from managing stress to improving relationships at home, at my request. I support Mr. Knapp with the strongest recommendation possible!

Vaughn is kind, compassionate, experienced, and has a good sense of humor. His guidance has been invaluable for me during a very difficult time in my life and I am grateful for his wisdom and skill. His approach of connecting the feelings, emotions, stresses I am experiencing to physiological and psychological processes is both very illuminating and grounding.
