Vickie Lucero, LPC
About me
Hello, my name is Vickie. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Addiction Counselor in Colorado. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2011 and just this year got my Licensed Addiction Counselor credential. However, I have been working in the mental health field in a variety of roles and settings since 1996. A few of those settings include the Department of Human Services, Community Mental Health, inpatient and outpatient addiction treatment centers and non-profit health clinic work.
I describe my approach as eclectic. I do not practice one single modality but rather a variety based on the needs of the individual. I believe that every individual’s concerns are unique to them and their experience and therefore believe it is important to tailor the therapeutic process to their unique circumstances. I find that components of Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused, Motivational Interviewing and Dialectical Behavior are Therapy are often most effective and tend to use those evidenced based approaches the most; however, I am educated in a variety of therapeutic approaches and will use whatever is the best fit for you.
I have significant experience working with a variety of concerns including trauma, depression, anxiety, anger, parenting issues, gender dysphoria, personality disorders and substance use.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me, I look forward to having the opportunity to learn about you and assist you reaching your goals!
Warm Regards,
Vickie

Vickie is an amazing counselor. Oftentimes, before therapy I would get quite nervous talking about feelings and trusting my therapist to support me. However, with Vickie I am completely ensured that I will feel safe and listened to without judgement!
