Vivian Whetham, LPC
About me
Life is full of challenges, but being happy shouldn’t be one of them, and feeling like you are alone shouldn’t be another. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor with over sixteen years of experience helping people overcome some of life’s biggest challenges. I have experience in job and career development, disability adjustment and coping, addictions, relationships, anger management, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I have a direct, solution-focused approach and take pride in being non-judgmental and accepting. I consider it my responsibility to help my patients develop coping skills to address their problems.
Counseling provides a therapeutic relationship where you can explore issues and work towards personal growth and healing. It presents an opportunity to negotiate obstacles and find healthy coping skills that lead to healthier decisions. It gives you the opportunity to learn new ways of thinking and behaving that helps you find peace and happiness.
I use several approaches, including cognitive-behavior therapy, rational emotive behavior therapy, acceptance, commitment therapy, and brief therapy techniques.
It takes courage to seek help, and I want to congratulate you on taking that first step.
I look forward to working with you.

Vivian puts up with my darker remarks and focuses on keeping me on track as opposed to letting me go on dark tangents.

Vivian has been great so far we have only been working together for a few weeks. She responses quickly and takes the time to reach out between sessions. She has helped a lot and I look forward to working with her in the future.

Vivian's empathy and attention to detail is what makes her a great help. She was able to understand how I think very quickly and support me. She opened up my mind on how I process and think about issues and while showing compassion and kindness.
