Wilbert Nichols , LCMHC
About me
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor who has been in the helping profession for over 18 years. I received my licenses to practice in 2011 prior to that I was a case manager for at risk youth ad individuals with developmental disabilities. I have always enjoyed helping people realize their best self.
My personal theoretical orientation to counseling is an integrative approach based on person-centered view that the relationship between the counselor and client is important for healthy change. I will try to enable the client to become more fully and creatively alive and to become free from the blocks and unfinished business that may diminish satisfaction, fulfillment, and growth, and to experiment with new ways of being. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which is an effective approach for many clients. I also believe that a Cognitive (thought process) approach coupled with behavior changes is effective for many clients. I also acknowledge the importance of the client’s spiritual orientation and incorporate their belief system as a part of the therapeutic process.
I am always striving to be my best self and I enjoy assisting others in discovering the positional that they have within. We have the ability to have total wellness, I want to assist you in attaining total wellness. It takes courage and bravery to take that first step towards change, if you are ready to take that first step I am happy to help guide, support and encourage along the way. I look forward to working with you and helping you create a life full of happiness.

Reviews
These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Wilbert Nichols . We don't pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with BetterHelp might be different.
Wilbert is a great listener, extremely thoughtful and provides different options to try in order to boost my mood. I was really adamant about trying talk therapy rather than medication to manage my general anxiety and feeling down, and sessions with him are exactly what I needed. Wilbert always offers me alternative perspectives to my negative ones, helps me to be more positive and active in identifying and doing things that are good for my mental health. He's also super responsive to messages and accommodating in session scheduling.

I’ve seen a few therapists now who have all helped me with setting boundaries, but often left me pushing people away because of it. Wilberts positive approach was such a breath of fresh air. Best therapy session I have had within a decade and I am looking forward to more!
Thank you so much Wilbert.

Wilbert has done a good job in a short period of time. I am new to therapy but I feel comfortable with sharing my issues and problems to better deal with them moving forward.

For anyone going through a dark period, Wilbert feels like a ray of sunshine. He creates a safe respectful environment to admit your feelings, even to yourself, and he helps you navigate difficult places with his clinical expertise. He spends time outside of the session to learn about your culture and community to help you better, and I can honestly say that he makes me feel hopeful about the future, and less shitty about myself. Thank you for the kindness, Wilbert!
