As a licensed counselor in the UK with eight years of clinical experience, I bring a wealth of expertise to our counseling journey. My journey in the counseling field began in 2004 when I embarked on training at United Churches Healing Ministry in Huddersfield, England. Throughout my career, I have engaged in clinical practice at reputable institutions such as The Magdalene Project in Bacup, Lancashire, and Maundy Relief Counselling Service in Accrington. Following my qualification as a counselor, I remained committed to both services as a core counselor until 2013.
I have extensive experience working with diverse populations, including the LGBT community and couples. Additionally, for those seeking faith-based support, I offer Christian counseling, integrating spiritual principles with therapeutic practices to provide a compassionate and holistic approach.
In addition to my clinical work, I am passionate about advocacy and education surrounding addiction. During a sabbatical, I authored and published four books on addiction while simultaneously serving as a voluntary administrator for the Facebook group Partners of Alcoholics.
My counseling approach is integrative, drawing from person-centered techniques, psychodynamic insight, and Transactional Analysis. I firmly believe in your autonomy and strengths as the expert of your own narrative. Together, we can navigate challenges and embark on a journey towards fulfillment and happiness.
I am British; however, I also offer sessions in Spanish and French. With a degree in languages, professional interpreting qualifications, and over 35 years of experience as a linguist, I am dedicated to providing inclusive and accessible counseling services.
In the past year, I've had the privilege of assisting 400 clients from all over the world on their journey towards well-being and personal growth. It's been incredibly rewarding to witness their progress and resilience, and I look forward to continuing to support individuals globally in reaching their therapeutic goals.

I had 2 sessions with Dr cook and felt safe since the first minutes of exchange. He managed to catch my primary concerns very quickly and accurately after only one session and we deep dived in one of them during the second one, which made me realise so much. I am thankful for his time and kindness towards my person, and to his advices.

My sessions with Dr. Cook have honestly been life changing. He’s truly a professional at his job and has been helping me to become the version of myself that I've always dreamed of. I truly feel heard when I speak to him, he genuinely understands and gives supportive, creative and challenging advice that breaks my views of what think is possible. He’s been helping me process the trauma of multiple deaths, abandonment issues, sexuality, becoming an adult in a stressful environment, thoughts of suicide and depression and so much more. Showing me what’s possible and to not give up. He is kind, caring, supportive and empathetic and he genuinely wants the best for you. He’s funny too. But most importantly he listens, I mean truly listens, sometimes it’s great to just sit and speak about everything going on in your life, even if it’s nonsense, and have someone listen and make you feel heard who doesn’t shame or judge but instead encourages. He has been there for me in so many ways imaginable and truly I cannot thank him enough for that as we continue our sessions.

I just started therapy with Dr. Cook but I already feel good changes, I feel like I'm going somewhere. He is really reactive and human, I feel I'm in good hands. If you are looking for a therapist that doesnt just listen but actually talks with you and reacts to what you say then you've got the right one.
