Yanitza Quiles, LICSW
About me
I am a licensed independent clinical social worker (LICSW) with over a decade of experience working with individuals, couples and families. I am bilingual in English/Spanish and place a lot of importance in providing multicultural mental heath care. I have worked with clients on a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, relationship, career and self-esteem challenges.
My approach is collaborative and respectful. I believe that every person has the strength and resilience within themselves to overcome adversity. However, sometimes when we feel stuck, it can be helpful to work with a mentor/guide/coach to move forward.
As a mother of 2 daughters, I am passionate about helping women in all stages of life. In my “spare” time, I enjoy Crossfit, Audible books and far too many true-crime podcasts.
I know that it takes a immense courage to take the first step in the journey of change. I welcome the opportunity to meet with you, and work collaboratively on creating the life you want.

Yanitza offers me invaluable insight as to where some things are coming up for me and is the voice of reason when I am working through some issues. She asks the right questions that make me discern and reason through my feelings and where they are coming from. She is very easy to talk to and I feel like she understands me and respects me. She is intelligent, insightful and a great resource for me.

Yanitza has been a God send to me. I've been able to tackle so much of my trauma with her and make my life better overall. I cannot say enough good things about her and what's she's done for me as my therapist. I highly, highly endorse her.

Life changing and validating. I feel like Yanitza understands me better than most people, DEFINITELY better than certain folks who ought to know me and what makes me tick better than even a therapist. But Yanitza is so much more than what I’ve come to expect out of a therapist. She’s a confidant. I can go to her with things I never even understood how to communicate before, even if I did have someone to communicate these things to. I understand not only my purpose better than ever, but I understand the WHY of it. And why it matters. And she celebrates the things I come to understand in a way I never thought it was necessary to celebrate. She gives me a reason to feel okay with feeling these things.

It was my first time speaking with a therapist in a long time. I was nervous because I had not connected with my previous therapists but I took a leap of faith with Yanitza because I needed the help. I don't want to jinx it because it was our first session but I have one word to describe this session. The word is relief. I was able to really be myself with her. I am Latina and talking to someone who just gets the nuances of being Latina vs being white is just a breath of fresh air. I am looking forward to working with her in the future.

I have seen many therapists over the years, and Yanitza is the first person I feel actually takes the time to listen to what my concerns are and get to the meat of why I’m having a problem as opposed to just offering generic coping exercises and advice. She’s helping me understand myself and my mental health much better.
