I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor in North Carolina with 10 years of experience in counseling adolescents and adults. I have worked with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, coping with stress, spirituality, disordered eating, assertiveness, parenting difficulties, codependency, abusive relationships, family of origin issues, LGBT-related issues, and ADHD. I have also worked with people who have experienced psychological abuse, and issues related to being highly sensitive and neurodiverse.
My communication style is gentle, encouraging, and nonjudgmental. I believe in each person’s right to decide what feels right for them, as well as each person’s responsibility to craft durable solutions for a life they can feel safe in and proud of. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, trauma-focused, and solution-focused methods. I also draw from somatic approaches and I offer energy tapping (EFT) to address overwhelming feelings and to shift unhelpful beliefs. This popular process is highly effective at making rapid and noticeable improvements in specified areas. I will tailor our work together to honor your unique ways of processing information while building new skills that lead to a more fulfilling and empowered life.
It takes courage to reach out for support, so I commend you for that. I will meet you wherever you are on your journey, and allow you to go at a pace that feels good for you. Along the way I will ask you to be open to new perspectives, to challenge old beliefs, and to install the practices required for an upgraded life. If you are eager, inspired, and ready to take those steps, I am here to support you on that journey.

Yelitza is amazing. I really feel comfortable talking about things that I don't talk about with anyone and I get some tips to help me out through the week (like tapping!).

Yelitza is highly skilled, intelligent, articulate and professional. I have found Yetliza to be compassionate, intuitive and completely "present" during our sessions. With all of these supportive qualities I felt at ease from my first session; which is so important in order to build trust with issues challenging to discuss. Yeltiza also gives interesting, (proving to be insightful)homework assignments! Yelitza shows a devotion to her profession, consistently taking classes to add to her knowledge. All of these qualities make for an excellent therapist. Additionally, Yelitza is proficient with emotional freedom technique (tapping) which I have found to be particularly helpful for me. I feel blessed to have a rapport with such a kind and accomplished therapist. Yelitza is a gem.

Yelitza is amazing and gives you the proper tools for whatever situation you are going through. I have been in therapy off and on my entire life, and this is the first time that it is actually working. I appreciate your expertise and how well you treat your clients. All I can say is 10/10. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Yelitza has given me support and pushed me along in the 9 months we've worked together. I've finally started trusting myself and standing up for me in ways I've never done so because she has helped me work through me holding me back.

Yelitza has been my therapist for a year and a half. She is always available when I need her most. I work day shift so it's nice to find someone to talk to in the evenings. I feel like in that time I have gone from NEEDING her once a week and even then it didn't seem like enough to feeling like she's a nice confidante and we talk once or twice a month. She has helped me dive in to what my core hangups are and how I can refocus my stress and anxiety. We have tried different coping methods and role play out real scenarios so I can see things from a different perspective. Yelitza is professional, kind, and caring. Her gently way of speaking and engaging is refreshing and it helps me feel totally at ease. I appreciate her so much!

I want to have someone more attentive and proactive in my therapy. I want a therapist not a counsellor. Thank you

Yelitza has been such a wonderful blessing. I found her when I was at an extreme low point in my life and needing a way out because there were people depending on me. She is a wonderful listener and always has great ways of helping me refrained my thoughts.

I was able to bring up topics that in the past, I've been mocked about and hidden very deeply. She gave me the confidence to discuss this in our second meeting, and was supportive, non-judgmental, and able to provide insight into things I hadn't even considered.
