Yelitza Gallimore, LCMHC
About me
I am a licensed clinical mental health counselor in North Carolina with 10 years of experience in counseling adolescents and adults. I have worked with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, coping with stress, spirituality, disordered eating, assertiveness, parenting difficulties, codependency, abusive relationships, family of origin issues, LGBT-related issues, and ADHD. I have also worked with people who have experienced psychological abuse, and issues related to being highly sensitive and neurodiverse.
My communication style is gentle, encouraging, and nonjudgmental. I believe in each person’s right to decide what feels right for them, as well as each person’s responsibility to craft durable solutions for a life they can feel safe in and proud of. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, trauma-focused, and solution-focused methods. I also draw from somatic approaches and I offer energy tapping (EFT) to address overwhelming feelings and to shift unhelpful beliefs. This popular process is highly effective at making rapid and noticeable improvements in specified areas. I will tailor our work together to honor your unique ways of processing information while building new skills that lead to a more fulfilling and empowered life.
It takes courage to reach out for support, so I commend you for that. I will meet you wherever you are on your journey, and allow you to go at a pace that feels good for you. Along the way I will ask you to be open to new perspectives, to challenge old beliefs, and to install the practices required for an upgraded life. If you are eager, inspired, and ready to take those steps, I am here to support you on that journey.

Yelitza is highly skilled, intelligent, articulate and professional. I have found Yetliza to be compassionate, intuitive and completely "present" during our sessions. With all of these supportive qualities I felt at ease from my first session; which is so important in order to build trust with issues challenging to discuss. Yeltiza also gives interesting, (proving to be insightful)homework assignments! Yelitza shows a devotion to her profession, consistently taking classes to add to her knowledge. All of these qualities make for an excellent therapist. Additionally, Yelitza is proficient with emotional freedom technique (tapping) which I have found to be particularly helpful for me. I feel blessed to have a rapport with such a kind and accomplished therapist. Yelitza is a gem.
