Yolanda Dunn, LCSW
About me
Greetings,
I am Yolanda, a North Carolina native (Go Tar Heels)! I relocated to Atlanta, GA to attend graduate school in 2011 and completley fell in love with the diversity of Atlanta. I am a lover of food, all things fitness, soulful R&B music, concerts, sports (specifically basketball-GO LAKERS), attending sporting events, spending time with family/friends, and finding new ways to make every day a little bit better than yesterday.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 5 years of experience assisting individuals struggling with a wide range of concerns such as work-life balance, adjustment issues, depression, anxiety, grief, PTSD, and relationships issues. My treatment approach is typically cognitive behavioral therapy as the foundation and I also like to utilize client-centered therapy. I think it is imperative to empower individuals to reach their highest potential while assisting them to change those distorted thoughts. I truly value building rapport with my clients and learning all areas of their life. I provide a very safe to share, warm, trusting, and non judgmental environment. I understand that life can really deal us a tough hand of cards at times, but the beautiful thing about that hand is that YOU are in control of how it is played and I am here to assist and cheer you on along the way.
I look forward to connecting with you and assisting you on this journey to a better version of you.

Yolanda is the best therapist I’ve had. She listens, offers advice without making me feel like I have to follow/take it, offers insight into myself that I was unaware of, and has immensely helped me with my anxiety and self-worth. It’s so easy to open up to her and speak freely; I never feel judged or pressured to follow her advice. She makes suggestions and I make decisions; I appreciate that she also helps me build up my self-confidence. Anyone would be lucky to have her as their therapist.

I thank my lucky stars that I was matched with Yolanda. I have worked with her for about 5 months and I feel like a different person. Yolanda has a wonderful way of helping me to reframe my thoughts and build my confidence. I was feeling really low and fragile when we first met. Now, with Yolanda’s excellent help, advice and support I feel I understand myself a lot better and I feel more resilient and healthy than I ever have in my life. THANK YOU Yolanda, I appreciate you so much!

Yolanda was the perfect match for me! Even as a woman of color, I didn't realize just how impactful representation was until I sat down (virtually) with Yolanda for the first time and felt like, "wow I can be COMPLETELY myself and she GETS IT and is also here to help and support my growth." I've already recommended her to my friends! It's so important to find a therapist that you feel comfortable being your authentic self with.
