Yung-Mei Leong, Psychologist
About me
I am a caring and empathic psychologist, licensed in Maryland, and have twenty years of diverse professional experiences in various settings, including eight years providing psychotherapy.
Areas of expertise include anxiety (including obsessive compulsive symptoms), depression, and problems with emotional or behavioral regulation that make it difficult to keep positive relationships or advance in one's chosen field. I can also help you navigate major life changes or stressors with practical coping strategies, self-compassion, and perspective.
I create an open and safe environment where you can share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences without fear of judgment. My therapeutic approach is cognitive behavioral, based in identifying thoughts and beliefs that have not been serving you well. This allows us to target strategies toward empowering you to live a more fulfilling, authentic life.
It takes courage to take the first step toward positive change. I am here to support and guide you on that journey.

Dr. Yung-Mei is kind, understanding, and wise. She excels at active listening and is skilled at encouraging you to see things from new perspectives. The comfort but also personal growth I have experienced while working with her in the last few months is not insignificant! I highly recommend her expertise.
