9 years defines my experience providing dual diagnosis mental health related counseling services to adolescents, adults and elders in a variety of inpatient/outpatient services in the criminal justice system in conjunction with integrated clinical health systems services. This experience gave me a new direction and way of life consisting of personal growth and change I would like to share with you. Our goal is to share my experiences with those who seek to enhance their level of personal growth and change. Serving adolescents, adults, elders, couples, families and groups with my training in an eclectic variety of treatment modalities, the actual counseling approach with a given client is determined by your preference and personal goals. With the hope that your goals will center around the self discovery of personal strengths and yielding an increase in self esteem you will realize that your integrity is the most valuable asset about yourself. Upon this discovery you will be able to share with others as you become an extension of the counseling process. My theory is when people have hope and learn to challenge and replace irrational thoughts, beliefs and attitudes they create the biology of courage. By normalizing stress people are free to experience change. In Relationship focused therapy the counselor will identify strengths by asking family members to take note of the family dynamics they want to maintain The counselor will look for exceptions to the problem by asking couples to recount times when the problem did not occur and to account for why, to formulate a solution and highlight strengths. Couples will review worksheets and experience discoveries by working together to identify strengths and cultural differences. In my experience within the past 9 years couples will experience cohesion within the family unit in which they will find new meaning and purpose. Couples will set goals that identifies a renewed value driven direction as they discover what they want to work towards and what is really important to them. At Franciccan University I was made aware and adapted my Christian basesd counseling approach to center around the Eleven Human Emotions that describe the pleasure, appetite or human emotions. The goal to acquire the good through Love Desire and Joy and to avoid the evil of Hate Aversion and Sadness. These emotions make up the heart or inner core of mans emotional life. For difficult issues it is wise to recognize the Utilitatian or assertive emotions of Hope Courage and Anger versus Despair, Sadness and Fear. These Emotions give us the energy necessary to overcome obstacles that separate us from the things that are hard to get and what we really want. Clients are encouraged to engage in each component of the Eleven Human Emotions that will give them clarity and a renewed realtionship with the Holy Spirit thus gaining compassion for themselves and others. What do you have to lose and you have everything to gain by trying!

Hello! Welcome to Better Help! My name is Ann Newman (She/Her), and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Addiction Counselor practicing in Colorado. I graduated from Newman University in 2012, and have been working in the social services field with a wide variety of clients for 15 years. I discovered my passion for helping others when I first went to college, realizing quickly that the Business field I was initially interested in would never be as fulfilling as aiding another person to get through a tough time. During my career, I have worked with children in foster care, family reunification, individuals with intellectual disabilities, individuals in a prison setting , LGBT individuals, and more recently with individuals, families, and groups with diagnoses of substance use and mental health disorders. I would describe my clinical approach as trauma-informed and client centered, with the goal of understanding what you want from your therapeutic experience and creating realistic goals we can achieve together. I employ Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and skills based learning, combined with an empathetic approach to your unique situation. I can work with you through video, phone, or chat. However I find being able to connect through video to be most helpful in developing a strong therapeutic connection. My availability is mostly weekends, and I check my messages at least once a day throughout the week. This is a great first step in helping yourself feel better and to begin a conversation geared towards your goals and needs. Sometimes we just need someone to talk to so we can sort it all out. I look forward to working with you!

I am licensed in Colorado with 10 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, abuse, & anger management. I also have experience working with depression. You don’t have to keep pretending you’re okay. You’ve been strong for too long—navigating life, love, and pain like you’re supposed to have it all figured out. But deep down, something’s off. You’re tired. Maybe you’re losing yourself in a relationship that’s no longer healthy. Maybe you’re struggling to set boundaries, speak your truth, or stop people-pleasing. Or maybe you’ve been through trauma that still echoes in how you love, trust, and show up. I’m Rich Yeager, LPC, and I help men, women, and older teens heal the parts of themselves that life tried to bury. I work with people who are ready to stop performing and start living, especially when it comes to relationships, self-worth, and emotional clarity. Whether you’re trying to rebuild after a toxic relationship, struggling to communicate with your partner, or still carrying pain from your past, this is the work that matters. My style is real, grounded, and straight up. I blend clinical tools with soul work—trauma recovery, boundary setting, inner child healing, and relationship repair. This isn’t surface-level stuff. We go deep, but we do it honestly, empowering, and focused on results. You weren’t meant to just survive love—you were meant to heal in it. You weren’t meant to stay silent—you were meant to be seen. If you’re ready to stop shrinking, stop repeating the same patterns, and start rebuilding a life and love that actually feel good, you’re in the right place. Let’s get to work.
