Cristina Spataro
My name is Cristina Spataro, and I am a New York State licensed mental health counselor. I have worked with people in crisis for the past 18 years. If there is one thing, I have learned is that everyone has the capacity for change if they truly want it. Life is hard, and the "right" choices are not always so apparent. Our decisions and their consequences leave us questioning ourselves. While I have specialized in lending assistance when things get really bad, I would love to see my clients get the help they need beforehand. If you are reading this and struggling with relationships, career decisions, or even mental anguish and illness, allow me to help you. I can help life make sense again!

I have assisted veterans, law enforcement officers, teachers, students, men, women, young adults, teens and children to overcome a host of anxiety and mood based disorders and relationship issues. I have worked some of the most difficult client cases in the inner city, but also identify with needs of clients in suburban and rural communities based on my diverse background and extensive experience. I have developed a holistic approach to counseling concentrating on what I call the "7 Pillars of Health" wherein my clients learn to monitor their overall well-being and begin a successful plan and practice of self-regulation. A proponent of Individual Psychology developed by Alfred Adler, and am also quite adept at CBT, Reality Therapy, Psychodynamic, and Mindfulness methods. As a Christian Counselor I also encourage clients to explore their spirituality as part of the healing process.

Jacquelyn Jabul Mercer
I am a licensed clinical social worker in New York with post-graduate analytical institute training. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults. My experience extends to being credentialed by the DOD (Department of Defense) as a civilian GS-11 primary provider, deployed to Fort Wainwright, Alaska, and Misawa, Japan, to work with Service Members and their families. My orientation is psychodynamic psychoanalytic psychotherapy with a focus on building a co-created working alliance to address long-term recurring issues that interfere with one's relationship with self and others. It takes courage to embark on the journey of discovery to process unresolved losses and understand inner conflicts, fears, and anxieties. My approach does not yield instant results and foregoes a rush to judgment. What is important is for you to feel that you can trust the treatment process. Once we clarify what you expect from treatment, what treatment frame works best for you within the realm of what I offer, we will work at your pace. Although the work is intense, I am attentive, interactive and caring. The process is geared towards producing benefits that promote change, self-understanding, personal growth, and building core emotional and psychological strengths. I am here to support you in a personal journey of discovery.
