The town of Colonie in Albany, New York was named after the Dutch colony called the Colonie of Rensselaerswyck. In fact, the entire area was once a part of the Rensselaerwyck Manor owned by the van Rensselaer family. The town now has 25 places listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places, which is more than any other city in the Eastern United States.

We all have bad days sometimes and some days we may need a little extra support both emotionally and mentally. Knowing when you need the help and when to reach out is important. There are plenty of excellent therapists and counselors in the Colonie area who are able to listen and understand what is going on. Just reach out for help today.

I am a clinical social worker, licensed in Connecticut and New York State. I have been helping individuals, couples and families grow and change over my entire 47 year career. Change can be frightening to contemplate, but in reality change is normal. People grow and change on a daily basis as we learn, adapt and grow wiser and gain more experience. Often, being human, we make mistakes or we find that our lives are not what we expected. This can result in depression and/or anxiety, or a disruption in our relationships with families and loved ones. It may even result in serious mental illness. As an experienced therapist, I help my patients become in charge of that change process, rather than victims of it. I can't solve your problems, but I can assist you to solve them yourself.

I am a licensed clinical social worker in New York with post-graduate analytical institute training. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults. My experience extends to being credentialed by the DOD (Department of Defense) as a civilian GS-11 primary provider, deployed to Fort Wainwright, Alaska, and Misawa, Japan, to work with Service Members and their families. My orientation is psychodynamic psychoanalytic psychotherapy with a focus on building a co-created working alliance to address long-term recurring issues that interfere with one's relationship with self and others. It takes courage to embark on the journey of discovery to process unresolved losses and understand inner conflicts, fears, and anxieties. My approach does not yield instant results and foregoes a rush to judgment. What is important is for you to feel that you can trust the treatment process. Once we clarify what you expect from treatment, what treatment frame works best for you within the realm of what I offer, we will work at your pace. Although the work is intense, I am attentive, interactive and caring. The process is geared towards producing benefits that promote change, self-understanding, personal growth, and building core emotional and psychological strengths. I am here to support you in a personal journey of discovery.
