Cortney (Bota) Smith
Hello, my name is Cortney. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have been working as a mental health therapist for over 10 years. Most of my experience has been working in community clinics, with adult clients providing traditional face to face therapy. For the past 7 years I've been providing teletherapy (online therapy) through BetterHelp. My experience includes working with clients with a wide range of mental health disorders (mild life stressors, change, relationship issues, anxiety, depression, bipolar, psychosis, trauma, anger management, co-occurring disorders). My education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling, and 1,000 clinical hours as a mental health intern in various placements. My treatment approach is person centered; I want to meet you where you're at. I want to know what your wants/needs are so I can help you achieve your goals using a solution focused and cognitive behavioral therapy approach. My goal is to help support and guide you, ultimately while you're the one coming to conclusions and making appropriate changes to help you make progress/achieve your goals. It takes a lot a lot of courage and strength to take this first step and I'm proud of you! I look forward to working with you! Please be advised that my current office hours are Monday 9am-2pm and Wednesday 9-3 EST. I try my best to accommodate evening appointments when necessary, but if you're primarily looking for consistent appointments outside of these hours a counselor with evening/weekend hours may be better suited for you.

Janet Caldwell
Hello! I'm Janet Larsen Caldwell, a licensed mental health counselor in both New York and Florida and I am wondering: Have you ever scrutinized your relationships with your children or the connection between you and your partner? Are you trying to balance work and home? Are you blaming yourself or have you ever had the feeling that maybe it's you, but would never want to reveal that? If you or a family member has been diagnosed with ADHD, you may be in luck here. Your ADHD personality and/or cultural upbringing may be preventing you from the happiness you desire with the special people in your life! Instead of labeling your issues and behaviors, we can work with what you have. By making changes to accommodate your needs and relieve you of those unwanted feelings of anxiety, depression, stress and, perhaps, loneliness, you and your family will be on your way to increased happiness. Through BetterHelp I provide a safe and welcoming space to discuss the ADHD issues you are tired of ruminating about. If you have reached out to your family and friends and they have not been helpful, it may be too uncomfortable for them, besides not having the answers you need. After studying nursing in college for two years, I decided that the profession was not for me. I have a BA in Human Development from SUNY Empire State College and a graduate degree in Counseling and Community Psychology from Sage Graduate School.

Cristina Spataro
My name is Cristina Spataro, and I am a New York State licensed mental health counselor. I have worked with people in crisis for the past 18 years. If there is one thing, I have learned is that everyone has the capacity for change if they truly want it. Life is hard, and the "right" choices are not always so apparent. Our decisions and their consequences leave us questioning ourselves. While I have specialized in lending assistance when things get really bad, I would love to see my clients get the help they need beforehand. If you are reading this and struggling with relationships, career decisions, or even mental anguish and illness, allow me to help you. I can help life make sense again!

Anastasia Papadopoulos
Hi! My name is Staici, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with sixteen years of clinical experience. My passion and drive to help people originated when I was a teenager and my mother received a diagnosis of Schizophrenia. I set out to essentially "save" my mom and others suffering from mental health issues. During my professional studies, I took every psychology and social service course available because I developed a fascination with how the mind works and how it effects human behavior. I received a Graduate degree from Fordham University in 2007. I also learned how to navigate the system and was able to connect my mom to the services she needed and, boy did it help! I got my best friend back and realized how effective mental health treatment really is. I stayed true to my calling and can honestly say I love what I do! I possess extensive knowledge and experience working with all different age groups, races, and ethnicities in various treatment settings such as schools, outpatient clinics, hospitals and homes. I am certified and trained in Motivational Interviewing, CBT, trauma- informed care. client -centered treatment and mediation. What can I offer you? I will provide you with a safe, genuine, nonjudgmental space. You will receive consistent support and empowerment and we will move at a pace that is most comfortable for you. I will leave you with one of my favorite poems and hope to hear from you! Autobiography in Five Short Chapters I. I walk down the street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I fall in. I am lost. I am helpless. It isn't my fault. It takes forever to find a way out. II. I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I still don't see it. I fall in again. I can't believe I am in the same place. It isn't my fault. It still takes a long time to get out. III. I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I see it there, I still fall in. It's habit. It's my fault. I know where I am. I get out immediately. IV. I walk down the same street. There is a deep hole in the sidewalk. I walk around it. V. I walk down a different street.
