Edward Falsey
I have been a psychotherapist for over 30 years. I have a lot of experience dealing with a variety of issues. I graduated from Fordham University School of Social Work in 1985. I have worked in a variety of settings. I have also work in other areas of administration of various organizations. In working with individuals my approach involves building a relationship of trust so that the person will free comfortable talking with me. This allows the person the safety to talk about the issues they are struggling with. This may also allow us to explore any underlying issues that may be the source of any anxiety or depression. By enabling clients to talk about their underlying emotional conflicts which usually are based in their childhood, they are aided to free up some of their emotional energy to deal with the here and now. I am able to work in a solution-focused short term model. This helps clients to focus on developing skills and strategies to help their everyday functioning. I have a lot of experience dealing with addictions and codependency issues. I have also worked in a pastoral counseling setting in the past. This allowed me the ability to use a personals spiritual experience to help the therapeutic process if the client is open to this. This helps to allow a more holistic approach to healing. I have a wide-ranging experience working with couples and families. I am also trained in hypnotherapy. I have a style of relating that people seem to find comforting and approachable. I am more proactive in my approach and interventions with clients. Some people find this easier to deal with rather than a therapist who seems to be just listening.
