Antoinette Bryce
Antoinette Bryce, Clinical Social Worker/LCSW Licensed in NY and NC Hello there! My name is Antoinette Bryce, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been in the mental health and human services field for 13 years. I am a graduate from the Fordham University and currently a lecturer within the Human Behavior field. My passion is “People” and helping them to get to the core of who they are. Starting out as a customer service agent many years ago I have learnt that the “customer is always right.” In keeping this approach, coupling it with a mental health and trauma focused lens, my modality of choice for intervention is from the Humanistic Paradigm- I will meet you where you are at…and then we both work from there. I also include in my practice short-term Solution Focused Intervention and CBT Therapy. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, ADHD, anxiety, work-related concerns including burn-out, parenting problems, religious/spiritual struggles, life transitions, self-esteem concerns, anger management and an extensive background in child welfare. I have also spent all my timeframe as a Human Behavior Specialist working in underserved communities, working closely with underserved clients-specifically members of the black and brown community. Trauma hinders our progress whether the exposure is miniscule, extensive or somewhere in-between. Unless we can identify and understand this impact one cannot start moving towards healing. Let’s start this journey together and explore through appropriate intervention that is designed to meet your needs, a way towards being whole again.

I am privileged that you have selected me as your counselor and psychotherapist. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York, with over 20 years of professional work experience, and also hold a permanent certification in School Psychology. This document is to inform you about my background and to ensure that you understand our professional relationship. I work with adults in individual therapy, couples, as well as children and their families in a variety of settings including a virtual (telehealth) office. I support LGTBQIA2S+ clients. I may consult with school districts for the purpose of wrap around care and educational history when working with children. Most of my sessions are now provided virtually. My style is integrative; I draw from various theoretical schools of thought and utilize dimensions of therapeutic healing since different approaches are applicable to different people in different situations. My goal is to provide professional, respectful, and nonjudgmental services to help you achieve your personal goals surrounding any challenges you may be facing regarding stress and anxiety, trauma and abuse, coping with grief and loss, motivation, social anxiety, self esteem, or confidence. My approach is client-centered with solution-focused techniques and sometimes behavior modification through goal-oriented problem-solving. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) as well as therapy for trauma and/or grief/loss are also modalities that are utilized such as DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). Trauma informed practices and teaching mindfulness /conscious awareness, are highly valued in my practice. I believe in each person's journey, which is unique to you. There are no finite time constraints or provisions written in stone which will guarantee success. However, please know that your effort means something! The fact that you are here, speaks volumes. Progress takes time, and there are no guarantees of exactly what you will experience as a result of being in therapy, due to each individual level of response, commitment and effort into the journey. Anger, sadness, and disappointment can arise from the process, these feelings can be addressed and integrated as part of the healing journey. We will collaborate, to identify your personal goals that can projected into some short term time periods, utilizing various techniques and strategies. My orientation and approaches to sessions vary depending upon your needs, and my areas of specialty facilitate self-awareness, self-acceptance, and relational growth; this is client-centered and never imposed. While working with children and behavioral challenges, I specialize in functional behavior plans to complement a strategy for helping the family to change, eliminate, or decrease dysfunctional family patterns. Specializing also in humanistic and transpersonal psychology, my practice offers techniques to connect and integrate Mind, Body, Spirit, and Soul. Some of these methods include traditional and nontraditional, complimentary/integrative, healing modalities such as various forms of Meditation, Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) and Shamanism or other belief systems as preferred and chosen by the client. I look forward to working with you, and tailoring our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.
