Hello. I know life can at times feel overwhelming and difficult to navigate on your own. I am so happy that you are taking the step to begin working through whatever concerns you may have. When we meet, I hope that you will find a safe place where we can explore these concerns and develop a plan that will have you living your best life. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 15 years of counseling experience. I have worked with individuals presenting with a wide range of concerns. I have extensive experience working with individuals with addiction and with their loved ones, with individuals who have experienced trauma, and with families in conflict. I have worked with individuals struggling with life transitions such as divorce, returning to the workforce and career change. I have counseled in mental health, addiction treatment, and criminal justice settings as well as my own private practice My counseling philosophy is that YOU are the expert of your own life. My approach is integrative, incorporating different therapeutic techniques to make sure that your specific concern is addressed in the way most effective for you. Each person is unique and brings his or her own history making it impossible to utilize only one or two approaches to therapy. People respond differently to styles of counseling. Our work together will always be person (you)- centered and strength-based, because, again, I truly believe that you have what it takes to succeed. My role is to guide and support you in building the skills and confidence necessary to live your best life. I meet each client where you are and build on your strengths and resources. My style is not always “easy”, I will sometimes push you past your comfort zone, but I will always be empathetic and patient and put you first. Oftentimes, clients aren't aware of what is holding them back and keeping them stuck in unhealthy patterns and as a therapist, I can aid in identifying those things. Together, we can undo false belief systems and unhealthy habits. Seeking therapy is the first step in that process. I look forward to meeting you and to begin working together!

Jill Markowitz
Hi there! My name is Jill Markowitz and I have been practicing for the last 5 years as a LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor). I have experience working with various populations - the LGBTQ+ community as well as with clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief and a difficult time with life transitions. My role as your therapist is twofold; a) to listen to your concerns and provide you with a safe space to speak about your thoughts and feelings without feeling judged and b) provide you with new tools for your toolbox that you can carry with you even after we stop working together. My ultimate goal throughout this process is to get you to talk through all of your thoughts and feelings, help you be able to understand them better and get you to a better place mentally, emotionally and physically. When I start working with a new client, I let them know that throughout this process, I view them as the experts in their own lives, relying on them to provide me with insight into themselves, and together with my clinical knowledge, we can work together on reaching the goals we set forth. Therapy is a collaborative venture, one that is a process and takes time to see change. Additionally, there might be some moments where you come upon difficult truths about yourself or your situation. Just keep in mind this is all part of the journey we are on together. I look forward to working to with you and helping you work through whatever obstacles are currently in your way!

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (PA) with more than has more than 25 years of experience as a Mental Health Therapist. I hold a Doctorate of Social Work, which was completed in October 2019. I treat children, adults, and families - specializing in trauma, anxiety, autism, and substance abuse from a strengths perspective. I have over 200 hours of specialized training in treating trauma and abuse, with completed certifications in autism, as well as substance abuse. I have helped many patients with many concerns over the past 25 years. I treat from a holistic approach - body, mind, and spirit. Research states that treatment should include physical, mental, emotional, culture, religion, spirituality, and everything that makes you who you are. "Holistic" has become somewhat of a buzzword. Let me describe what holistic means to me. It means that counseling will not fix a thyroid problem. Holistic means that a problem in one area of your life will affect every area of your life. For example, let's talk about depression. Sometimes, people do not have depression. Instead, they might need to work at forgiving themselves or someone else; or maybe they just need hope that life will get better. Alternatively, they might have an underlying medical condition. Sometimes, we just need help to grieve the loss of a dearly loved person or a beloved animal. I help people to find healthy coping skills, people to trust, and ways to live life to the fullest. Be at Peace, Dr. Vic (he/ him) Dr. Victor John Manocchio, II, DSW, LCSW License PA- CW014668; NY – 090111 NPI 1487828554

Experience: I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a wealth of professional and personal life experiences. I am a native New Yorker, however I received my license in Florida, where I lived for 17 years, and recently relocated to New York City. I served in the US Army and was also a military spouse, which provided me with the opportunity to travel and live in different parts of the US. In addition, to being a veteran and working/supporting military families, I have had the honor to serve as a Hospice Social Worker. Providing End of Life care to individuals, caregivers, and families. That experience prepared me for my role as an Oncology Social Worker. I was afforded the opportunity to administer emotional spiritual support to people diagnosed with various cancers. That was a transformative experience which I will always be grateful for. Currently I am in Private Practice and enjoying the opportunities that remote mental health services grant. Education: I completed my under graduate degree, Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education, with Wayland Baptist University in 2009. I received my Master of Social Work with the University of Central Florida in 2013. With that said, I have continued to develop professionally by attending conferences, workshops, reading journals, consulting with colleagues, reviewing empirical data that supports evidenced based practice, reading books and watching educational videos. Treatment Approach: I create a warm and inviting atmosphere for engaging in the therapeutic process. My style is relaxed, compassionate yet direct. While education and experience are important, there is a creative element to this craft which is where I really shine. I utilize a variety of treatment modalities which include, but are not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and mindfulness. I collaborate with clients to assist them with obtaining their treatment goals via active listening, giving feedback and providing concrete tools that people can exercise in the moment. How I can help: I believe everyone could benefit from some guidance, information, education and additional support. Beginning this process can be a difficult step but an important one. However, once the journey has begun, therapy can have a positive impact on the quality of your life. Whether you are suffering from anxiety/depression, managing relationships, parenting, work related issues, sex/intimacy, gender identity, grief/loss, divorce, trauma, survivorship (Oncology) or just wanting to gain insight into your own behaviors. I look forward to helping you achieve your goals!

Hello and welcome to therapy! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 16 years of professional work experience. I have certifications in both New York and Florida states, and can treat individuals from either geographical area. That being said, being a social worker has afforded me to work with a variety of people on a wide range of issues. I am also educated with a Master's Degree at Columbia University and have studied the impact of family and environmental stressors on the brain. I can work with those who are trying to understand and learn more about why they are experiencing stress, anxiety, or depressive symptoms. The places where we reside, the people whom we interact with whether loved ones at home, or in with workplace, and how we feel about ourselves internally can all play a role in our emotional health. I can attest to witnessing individuals gaining access to hope and moving toward changes in their lives through the therapeutic process once they have gained a sense of control through the use of specific tools or even through having an objective person to process their feelings. Depending on your needs, we can work to understand your thoughts and the impact on behaviors you wish to address, we can learn about your somatic experience (body/mind connection), and we work together to explore setting achievable goals. While I have treated those with chronic or severe emotional health-related issues, my work at Better Help best serves those who are coping with recent stressors as I am only available 2 days of the week, Tuesdays and Thursdays for client sessions. I prefer working with clients who will be able to do scheduled text, phone, or video sessions as this is the best way for me to connect during the work week. I am available initially for texting with the idea of setting a schedule for treatment as therapy works best with structured time where we can delve into matters. I will try my best to respond to texts in between the sessions within 24-48 hours as your questions or concerns are important to me. If you think we may be a good fit, reach out and we can set some time aside to talk. I look forward to meeting you as you explore the therapeutic journey. Alexandra

Trauma informed practices and teaching mindfulness /conscious awareness, are highly valued in my practice. I believe in each person's journey, which is unique to you. There are no finite time constraints or provisions written in stone which will guarantee success. However, please know that your effort means something! The fact that you are here, speaks volumes. Progress takes time, and there are no guarantees of exactly what you will experience as a result of being in therapy, due to each individual level of response, commitment and effort into the journey. Anger, sadness, and disappointment can arise from the process, these feelings can be addressed and integrated as part of the healing journey. We will collaborate, to identify your personal goals that can projected into some short term time periods, utilizing various techniques and strategies.
